'Showman’ producer-composer Siddharth Kasyap is always known to be a creative maverick who is daringly different. This time too, his latest 11 minutes musical short film titled ‘Azadi’ released by his SK Music Works, to coincide with the 76th Indian Independence Day (2023) anniversary celebrations during the current week is innovative and perhaps first-of-its-kind.

Written and directed by Anshul Vijayvargiya, ( of blockbuster music video ‘Dua Karo’ fame) the short slick musical experimental film Azadi features a talented primary cast of model-actress Anjali Krishna,( of ‘Abr-E-Karam’ music video fame), classical danseuse-actress Araadhika Verma ( as Maharani Laxmibai ), model-TV actress Nishi Saxena,( of popular TV Show ‘Anupamaa’ fame) Viraj Kapoor, Yadnesh Kamulkar and supported by many others. The theme poetry song beautifully written by Shakeel Azmi is composed by Siddharth Kasyap

What is unique experimental in ‘Azadi’ is that with vibrant visuals, we have shown today’s young smart kids time-traveling back into the historic journey flashback-past of the mutiny of 1857 and becoming part of historic events like Rani Laxmibai, Mangal Pandey, Jallianwala Bagh massacre, the andolans (agitations) led by Mahatma Gandhi-ji and events relating to Chandrashekhar Azad, Veer Savarkar etc.. The short film released to coincide with the 76th year of Indian Independence also generates among today’s tech-savvy youth reverential respect for the brave freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for Indian independence from British rule.

It also inspires today’s youth not to take our precious freedom. for granted. Dedicated star-singer Mohit Chauhan has sung so wonderfully the solo ‘Azadi’ song which has multi-dimensional with changing emotions, backed by the ‘arrangement’ of original acoustic musical instruments... There were lots of odds and challenges while shooting of our ‘Azadi’ song but I would credit our new dynamic, charismatic 'COO' Ms Aliza Khan did a fantastic job of co-ordination and supervision with her zeal and passion. Our ‘Azadi’ video was released by Hon’ble Union Minister Nitin Gadkari-jee in Nagpur and he highly appreciated our creative concerted efforts, “ informs Siddharth Kasyap who had also invited model-actress-danseuse Shwetaa Khanduri ( of 'Chhammo' hit glam-dance-song music video fame) as a special guest at the exclusive-screening well-attended event at Cinepolis Theatre .in Mumbai.
Star playback singer Mohit Chauhan has numerous chart-buster evergreen filmy songs to his credit including Tum Se Din Hota Hai ('Jab We Met'),# song Saans--Tu Jo Paas Aayi (Jab Tak Hai Jaan) # Tum Ho Paas Mere (Rockstar) # and of course thoda hatke yet popular song Masakali (Delhi-6 )
