This movie When Dyer Said Fire directed by T.J. Gill is receiving great response from the UK audience which is in cognizance of the latest response of the UK government on the Jallianwala Bagh incident and is being readied for an early release in India too. The Jallianwala Bagh Massacre took place on 13th April, 1919 and has completed 100 years in 2019. General Dyer was sure that there was going to be a violent uprising so he forbade all the meetings, but the message wasn’t conveyed to the people. On the auspicious day of Baisakhi, all villagers gathered to celebrate this festival at Jallianwala Bagh. The news was soon reported to Dyer and he along with his troops entered the garden. He sealed the main gates as no one would flee and for continuously 10 minutes fired ruthlessly. There were 379 identified deaths with 1,000 deaths and 1,100 wounded and 192 seriously wounded. The people were clueless about the situation and why General Dyer suddenly said “Fire.”-- This movie which depicts the same story in an entertaining way has been directed by T.J. Gill who had directed films like Just for You , Prank Call , Ishq Jo Humse Rooth Gaya, The End,Love Never Dies, besides the documentaries like Making Of Miss India for BBC, Dalia Lama and Osho.
