When Shakti Mohan Wanted To Become An Ias Officer!

Well, it is not easy to believe that Shakti Mohan, one of the most accomplished & versatile performer and Dance+ captain once aspired to become an IAS officer! The nimble footed dancer shared a surprising fact about herself, that she wanted to once pursue civil services and had it not been her father’s advice, she would have been one. Shakti mentioned that “. After finishing my graduation, I was contemplating about what to choose - to opt for civil services to qualify for IAS or a career in dance! As I was good in both, academics and dancing, I was trying to figure the way ahead.. Unable to make up my mind, I turned to my dad for guidance and had a heart to heart conversation with him. He never told me to opt for what he wanted I should become, despite of the fact that Neeti Didi was a singer. He has supported me and gave me freedom throughout and has always told me, ‘follow your heart’ and compete with myself and not with others to be successful.

Adding further, “My father never imposed his expectations and told me to go for a stable profession even once. He has been the wind beneath my wings as I took the leap of faith and headed to Mumbai with a dream to become a choreographer. I can proudly say my father is my biggest Plus. He has encouraged not only me but all my sisters to pursue what we wanted. I feel so humbled when parents tell me that they want their daughters to become like me! “

Captain Shakti and her dad are a shining example of Dance+ season 4 message - ‘Sapne Sirf Apne Nahin Hote!’, underlining that the journey to greatness is a long and a tough one. However, it is never alone!
