Who Were The Driving Forces Behind The Career Of Madhuri Dixit?

In the beginning when she lived in a one- room apartment in J.B Nagar, it was only her mother Snehalata, her father Anandrao, her elder sister Bharati, brother Ajit (both trained doctors) and her interior designer sister,Rupa who kept encouraging her...

It was the popular writer of some Rajshri films who first saw the sparks in her and asked the Dixit family if they had any objections if he tried to get Madhuri into films. The Dixits were in a fix for a while, but they finally agreed as they had a very good opinion of Govind Moonis and the Rajshris and that is how she got her first minor break in“Abodh". The film was a bad experience, but the new but beautiful girl was noticed.

A glamour photographer talked the Dixit family into shooting some glamorous photographs of Madhuri. They agreed. He shot the picture and happened to show some of them to the showman, Subhash Ghai who was mesmerised and decided to groom her in his own way.

Anil Kapoor was growing into a star and his business was being managed by Rakesh Nath(also known as Rikku, a powerful man in the industry. Anil who was doing films with Madhuri advised her to take on Rakesh Nath as her business manager and that was the beginning of one of the most talked about stories in the industry...

I have been a witness to how Rikku planned strategy to take her from success to more success. A time came when the only competition was between Sridevi and Madhuri. There were other temptations offered to Rikku but he was faithful to his Madhuriji till she literally took on the industry as the number one actress and there was no one who could stop her, but herself....

And she did stop herself when she took the industry by one big surprise when she decided to marry Dr Shrikant Nene who was a friend of her brother Ajit.

Rikku could not do anything to change her mind when she was right at the top and could demand the world as her price. But Madhuri preferred to follow the traditions of her family, got married to Dr Nene and settled down in Denver and was far away from films and glamour as she was busy bringing up her sons Arrin and Ryan.

Another surprise had to come from Madhuri or was it Aditya Chopra who made her spring a surprise when he made her agreed to play the lead role in his company's(YRF films)“Aaja Nachle" . There were great or even mighty expectations, but the comeback film of Madhuri but the film was a damp squib and Madhuri took a decision to go back to America where she got busy with her sons and her husband's business.

But success was a jealous lover and wanted her back somehow and she surrendered into the waiting arms of success, but success was not the same handsome, young and multi- millionaire man and he kept ditching her in films like“Dedh Ishqiya",“Gulab Gang",“Total Dhamaal"and the recent big calamity, “Kalank". Who was managing her career now? She and her husband are supposed to have taken a decision to get Rikku out of their scene and if there was one man who felt completely cheated and humiliated, it was Rikku. He is still trying to find out why what happened to him, happened.

Madhuri still looks as beautiful as she used to when she was the leading lady. She can still dance like an apsara, she can still conduct or participate in a reality show in a way which can give a massive complex to girls half her age. She still says that she had not made a comeback because she had never gone away with a vow that she would never comeback.

I firmly believe that Madhuri today is the only actress who can play the kind of roles Waheeda Rehman, Vyjyantimala and Meena Kumari once played. But where are the writers who can write those great roles for best? Where are the directors who can guide her to walk or dance or act her way into the hearts of the millions belonging to all ages? And where is that one man who can convince filmmakers that it is, it can be and it must be Madhuri?I am no one to make any suggestions or offer her any advice, but I know for sure that if there has to be a meaningful new life for Madhuri as an actress for all time, she needs that man hidden somewhere who can wave his magic wand and change the image of Madhuri and make it an image that neither man, nor destiny nor luck or any other power can change.
