Why actor Tariq Vasudeva ('Kedia') was not nervous while shooting with iconic co-star Sushmita Sen in ‘Aarya’ Season 2 and 3 ? by Chaitanya Padukone

Multi-media celeb actor-model Tariq Vasudeva was not at all nervous or jittery while giving his intense shots with senior actress and former Miss Universe (1994) Sushmita Sen whilst shooting for the popular crime-thriller drama on Disney+Hotstar digital show ‘Arya 2 and latest  Arya 3, which is currently streaming.  Explains Tariq, “ That’s because we were required to do intensive advance-prep-rehearsals ( like a workshop). While rehearsing, the unassuming, friendly Sushmita-maam was always supportive, caring and inclusive. She would completely step into the skin of her powerful title-role character Aarya and I would be playing her brave accountant Prakash Kedia,“ discloses Tariq-pey-Tariq ( that's what some of his friends fondly call him). That's why I was not nervous or self-conscious at all--instead I was so enthusiastic," reveals Tariq.

What did Tariq find so exciting about his screen-character ‘Kedia’, who also has his addiction? “It’s a multi-layered character accountant Kedia with his daily addiction for cocaine-drugs. Perhaps one of the toughest part-role and also perhaps one of the best roles, My challenging character Kedia gets kidnapped and also gets tortured when the bad guys try to forcibly extract vital information from him about Aarya.   Who is always supporting Aarya and even protecting her,”

After Band Baaja Baraat, I went on to do over 20 ad films for premium brands including Vodafone Blackberry Boys, TVS Wego, Lavie Bags with Kareena Kapoor, Star Sports with MS Dhoni, Fiat Thoda Kam Nahin Ho Sakta among many others. I have also acted in award-winning short films such as 'Kusum' and done lots of Theatre with eminent directors all over India. In feature films, I want to play versatile big-screen characters that are intense and edgy with a lot of substance and depth, in all genres,  romantic, dramatic, tragic and even comic,." says Tariq.

Shares Tariq, “I auditioned for the important character of Kedia in Aarya. Casting Director Abhimanyu Ray and Director Ram Madhvani really liked the audition and then they chose me to play this key role in Aarya--Season 2 and then again in Season 3 .”

Talented Tariq’s learning ground has always been films. “I watched Scarface repeatedly and studied the performance of Al Pacino to understand the Cocaine addicted character he played, to draw parallels. I have always used Method Acting in all my performances. It helps me get into the soul of the character and deliver my best.”

The dynamic Tariq has studied theatre for four years in the US and acted in prominent productions in Chicago, and is also a globally recognized filmmaker apart from being an actor. “My passion is storytelling in any form, be it Cinema or Theatre,” expresses Tariq.

“My directorial skills help me as an actor to get under the skin of the character I'm playing. There is nothing in the world that gives a bigger adrenaline rush than playing a character that leaves an intense and memorable impact on the audience. Playing the character of Kedia in Aarya has been an unforgettable and absolutely amazing experience!” shares Tariq. While Aarya Season 2 revolves around Aarya rescuing Kedia after he is kidnapped,   Aarya Season 3 will see him frequently on the edge.
