Why bold-grey-shock-value-themes movie ‘NRI Wives’ , with Bhagyashree, Samir Soni, Hiten Tejwani , Jugal Hansraj, Raima Sen, Aditi G. etc. release date is being pushed to May 26 ? --- by Chaitanya  Padukone     

The much-awaited bold-grey-themes sensational multi-starrer Hindi movie "NRI Wives- Grey Stories of Love vs Desires" which was originally scheduled to release tomorrow ( May 12^th)  has now been postponed by a fortnight. The movie ‘NRI Wives’which has bold shocking themes but handled sensitively without any explicit vulgarity and nudity will now theatrically release worldwide on May 26^th 2023, according to its dynamic producer-actress Gunjan Kuthiala.

The maverick movie is  based around provocative intriguing tales of NRI couples navigating through life's maze of emotions & temptations  starring a fabulous ensemble cast of Samir Soni, Jugal Hansraj, Raima Sen, Hiten Tejwani, Bhagyashree, Kiku Sharda, Gaurav Gera, Sadiya Siddiqui, Gunjan Kuthiala, Samiksha Oswal, Javed Pathan, Aditi Govitrikar, Olivia Malhotra, and Kapil Arora

Commenting on the inevitable delay, multi-talented producer-writer-actress  Gunjan Kuthiala , explained, "I have a love-hate relationship with Mother's Day (May 14^th) . I lost my daughter on this day which is why I was very keen on releasing the film on Mother's Day weekend.  Due to multiple reasons we had to push the release of the film to 26th of May, 2023 . "Hum kaun hote hai kuchh decide karne wale, Uparwaala jaanta hai, what one deserves!!! Releasing a film seems like delivering a baby and I guess these are labor pains of being a new & non-film industry outsider producer/film . I guess the universe wants our baby film to be delivered on 26th May now. I tried my level best to release on Mother’s Day weekend as my tribute to my lost daughter Aanya, but Eeshwar ko shaayad kuchh aur manzoor hai. It’s also Memorial Day weekend in America, so we have pushed the release date globally now. We are delighted that now PVR will be releasing the film NRI Wives  in India"

In Gunjan's words, there are lot of NRI  Stories yet to be told and this film is an ideal portrayal of 'the reality behind the glitz & glamour, gloss & shine', she further adds that NRI Wives reflects about how good people can show grey shades too in odd life circumstances and dives into the never witnessed before relationship stories of the immigrants (NRIs) roller coaster. Shot in the amazing locations in the USA  and produced by NRI LIFE Productions, the plot of the film revolves around four real -life inspired NRI stories (Old Secrets, Void Space, Desires & Taboo) diving into the grey shades of human relationships, emotions, desires, and curiosity.  Among many human-interest topics, NRI Wives deals in a dignified way with taboo themes of marital virginity, extra-marital desire-flings.and even the touchy theme of asexuality, perhaps for the first time in Hindi cinema”.

By  unusual coincidence, tomorrow Hiten Tejwani’s actress-wife Gauri Pradhan’s cinematic lead debut ( opposite Indraneil Sengupta) in this mature romantic story Hindi movie titled “A Winter Tale At Shimla” directed by enterprising writer-director Yogesh Verma will be releasing tomorrow ( May 12^th) in various movie-theatres, If ‘NRI Wives’ movie ( with Hiten Tejwani)  had also released, it would been a rare cinematic milestone of   separate movies of husband ( Hiten) vs wife ( Gauri) releasing on the 'same-day' in the multiplexes theatres.

When I spoke to versatile actor Hiten, he seemed quite cool about the  change in the release date and said, “Yes, Gauri and I were previously quite excited about the prospect of our separate movies screening at the same multiplexes. Which could have been a  classic cinematic coincidence. But then destiny, I guess,  always knows what is positively good for everyone and we both optimistically accept and look forward to the new developments,” signed off  Hiten ( of ‘Bade Achhe Lagte Hain’-Sony  TV show fame) .
