Recently world-renowned opera singer Gioconda Vesichelli was seen singing in the air in a luxurious sports car, looking like an aerial beauty. She is working on her next album which is a fusion between Indian artists and the American artists collaborating on the project. The super creative Italian singer keeps surprising the world again and again with her limitless source of creativity.
She is the pioneer and inventor of the Bollywood opera genre, for which she received the Indian Women of the Year award, even though she is not Indian. Despite being of a foreign origin, the award was given first to Mother Theresa and then to Gioconda Vesichelli.
Gioconda is an expert in mixing cultures and music as she has 2 degrees and a PhD from the University of Music "Santa Cecilia" in Rome and we have seen her as a faculty at Subhash Ghai University in Mumbai and also in many other universities in the world. I have seen her teaching in the master class. She is an expert in voice technique, so she is often invited as a jury member in voice competitions (for example she was on the jury in the Zee program "International Indian Icon" in Chicago and the girl she mentioned and predicted won the first prize. )
This April, Gioconda will again be on the jury at a Prestigious Talent Competition in Chicago, just before the release of her new album, which is in Hindi, where she also wrote some rap parts in Spanish. She speaks 7 languages and is also a writer, musician and director. During our conversation Gioconda told me "This time I'm more oriented to a world wide market, so I don't think I'll give my songs to the Tseries label again." This beautiful, very intelligent singer says, "We are in the heyday of indie music and this new song of mine is a mirror of how times, the trends in the music markets are changing."
While Saying this, a strange brightness spreads on Gioconda's face and suddenly she appears as a golden angel. Why did this happen? Why did she start shining like gold? When asked, she winks with a mysterious smile and says, "You know, I am descended from the sky." Her sudden giggle and the tinkling of that laugh really makes me think, "Na jaane kahan se aayi hai, na jaane kahan ko jayegi, deewana kise banayegi yeh ladki" (from which mysterious world does she come, who knows where she has to go, whom does this fairy girl intend to make crazy?).
We all know that being a 360 degree artist, Gioconda Vessichelli, how much she is versatile and flexible and a constant source of inspiration, both with her artistic and personal life, which knows no bounds.
