<strong>Why  dir. Raj Kumar Santoshi considers iconic A R Rahman his ‘saviour’  for their amazing movie ‘Gandhi Godse --Ek Yudh’ ? --- by Chaitanya  Padukone</strong>

Eminent senior Bollywood director  Raj Kumar Santoshi who has an amazing track record of maverick milestone movies ( like ‘Ghayal’, Andaz Apna Apna, The Legend of Bhagat Singh, Damini’, Pukar etc ) is known for his passion for perfection.  Late last evening, Santoshi was honestly sharing how most producers were unwilling to back him when he decided to make ‘ Gandhi Godse-- Ek Yudh’ .  Said Santoshi, “ It was all thanks to musical maestro A R Rahman-Sir who instantly agreed to work with me and only after that I then managed to get financial  support. Because I did not have the adequate financial resources to produce the movie. Nearly for a decade, I have not had any new releases and  as is known, the cine-industry prefers to salute only the ‘rising sun’.  At the same time I have worked with A R Rahman in four movies. Frankly speaking, ‘saviour’ Rahman-jee , who is the only superstar of my movie, did my movie almost for free. Besides recording three songs, he recorded the ( philharmonic) music in four different foreign countries on his own initiative. Without causing any huge burden on my financing budget. As most people who have worked with Rahman-Sir may know, that for him composing and singing is like ‘Ibaadat’ (divine prayers) .  Highly appreciating director Santoshi’s vision of  impartial truth, sincerity and passion  A R Rahman advised all cine-goers that they should not judge the movie ‘Gandhi Godse Ek Yudh’ only by its trailer . “ People should ideally watch this amazing  movie in theatres , before making any judgments or comments, “ appealed the genius composer-singer.

 This award-worthy movie ‘ Gandhi Godse-- Ek Yudh’ produced by Manila ( Rajkumar) Santoshi releases tomorrow coinciding with Republic Day ( Jan 26^th)  and later with Martyr’s Day ( on Jan 30^th)  is pitted against Shah Rukh Khan’s  much-hyped ‘Pathaan’.   The screenplay with devotional music situations ( Gandhi-ji’s favourite bhajans)  beautifully blends history with fictional thought-provoking imagination--an intelligent impartial debate—a verbal war of  thoughts . Based on the hypothetical premises, that what if  Mahatma Gandhi had ‘survived’ the  sensational assassination  attempt on his life . Following which he chose to meet Godse in judicial police custody for a rational debate discussion on their individual ideologies.    The soul-stirring music of this movie starring Deepak-bhai Antani                 ( as Gandhi-ji) and Chinmay Mandlekar  ( as Godse) supported by Tanisha Santoshi , Anuj Saini and Pawan Chopra  ( as Pandit Nehru) is being released by Jjust Music headed  by lead actor-producer Jackky ( Vashu) Bhagnani
