Sometimes, I just can’t believe how fast everything has happened. I can never forget my roots. I want to compose and sing amazing music and tell lyrical stories. The scariest thing in this world is to be you—but when you smile, the world smiles back. If love had a voice it would sound like ‘Saaya Tere Ishq Ka’ --my latest first solo album (Times Music) which has its lyrics written by legendary Gulzar-saab , “ gushes ‘5-D’ international artiste Reewa Rathod who is a trained eminent singer-composer-pianist-lyricist-and- actress. “It’s both a dream and a huge challenge to work with iconic Gulzar-saab. It was an endless journey of spending days and nights for long two years composing his surreal lyrics. But he is more like my mentor and allowed me to find hope within myself and the creative liberty to became fearless while composing and sing the lyrics composed by him with his extraordinary caliber. There are some English lyrics in the Hindi title-track which I wrote them myself . That’s because I can write well in English. But then blending my few English lyrics with Gulzar-saab’s awesome poetry was itself a huge challenge,” smiles Reewa who is a self-confessed huge fan of Bollywood super-star Hrithik Roshan. Quizzed on why Reewa preferred to shoot her title-song video in black-n-white instead of in colour she justifies, “Black n White visuals become timeless. According to me, when it’s in colour, they tend to focus more on your clothes or attire. Whereas in B & W your soul gets captured . That’s how even today people are allured with the classic B & W retro-movies of the ‘golden era’ . Even Gulzar-saab was fascinated and loved it . Complimenting me as also the creative team he reacted that well-shot “Black & White visuals are sheer timeless classics and being raw and realistic they last forever,” explains Reeva who does not mind even rendering her ‘playback’ voice for Bollywood heroines. “ It mainly depends on the song—it has to be great song—even it is used as a background or as a playback. But as of now my prime focus is on my independent singing internationally. Touchwood, lots of amazing work is coming up,” signs of Reewa, whose album ‘Saaya Tere Ishq Ka’ is already trending big-time even as both her seasoned celeb singer-parents Roop Kumar Rathod and Sunali Rathod are proud of their multi-talented achiever star-daughter.
