WHY WAS RANBIR KAPOOR LATE TO REACH SHAMSHERA TRAILER AT MALAD INOX

The trailer of Yashraj Films Shamshera starring Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt was held with great fanfare at Malad Inox multiplex and not at YRF Andheri only because the film has made in the IMAX format and not 2D format like the other films - Jyothi Venkatesh

Says Ranbir, "My driver took me to the PVR theatre at Malad at Infinity by mistake and hence it was difficult for me to maneuver the traffic and reach Malad Inox on time"

Sanjay added that he was very satisfied that Karan Malhotra and Aditya Chopra decided to cast him with Sanjay Dutt who he still reveres as his idol. "I am glad that Karan declared in front of the audience today that I was the first choice for the role in Shamshera because he feels I will be fresh for the part.

Not many are aware of the fact that I am also playing a double role for the first time in Shamshera. I play the role of the father as well as the son in the film."

It is interesting to note that when Ranbir was narrated the role initially he was not at all supposed to play the role of the father too, but I managed to convince Adi to let me play the role of the father too and he was also game along with Karan.

All through the making of the fim, I should confess that I had a great partner in Karan who repeatedly kept on asking me to trigger the real inherent latent anger inside me.

I kept my fingers crossed to make sure that I was able to pull of the role the way he expected me to do."

Ranbir said that it was his best role in the 15 years of his career right from the time he had made his debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya opposite Sonam Kapoor.

Hats off to Karan because it is very difficult to make a multi genre film like Shamshera. Ranbir said that the film was complete in a span of 140 days and added that each and every character in a film comes with its own individual challenges."
