Will Bollywood Fight It's Own Battle For Our Martyrs? What happened in Pulwama (Kashmir) must have put the devil to shame and made God who created Kashmir as his “heaven on earth"(Dharti pe swarg) By Team Bollyy 21 Feb 2020 | Updated On 21 Feb 2020 06:43 IST in Features New Update Follow Us Share What happened in Pulwama (Kashmir) must have put the devil to shame and made God who created Kashmir as his “heaven on earth"(Dharti pe swarg) God must have gone into his thinking place and worried and wondered what has gone wrong with human beings to commit such inhuman and ghastly crimes against human beings. And the entire country must be or has to be and every Indian must bow their heads in salute to the soldiers who had put their own lives and the lives of their families and loved ones to save the valley of terror, and had to give up their lives in the most gruesome attack by terrorists who have the audacity of taking the responsibility for an act that cannot be forgiven and can certainly not be forgotten. It will only be in the fitness of things to know that these acts of terrorism against our army is now becoming a dangerous and dastardly habit among those who hate to live in peace and are deadly against maintaing peace and it is now more than high time to stop making angry and hollow speeches against what has happened because what has happened so much can not be made to unhappen, but it is time to take the kind of action against the perpetrators of such a heinous crime that has shaken up not only every Indian leader of whatever party or and every Indian of whatever caste, creed or community. There will be a storm of reactions to this unpardonable action, but reactions are not the need of the hour, but the entire country and even people in countries all over the world will have to put their heads together to find solutions to this ‘war of the cowards'. If a political solution can be found, it is better that it is found now because enough is enough. These attacks have become common since the last two decades. It all started with Kargil and before action could be taken in a serious manner, there were other attacks in sensitive places in the valley in which hundreds of our brave soldiers lost their lives without being given a chance to put up a fight, because if they had to fight these cowardly terrorists, they would have mingled them with the dust. That has been the history of our gallant soldiers. The Prime Minister, the President, the Home Minister, the Defence Minister and every Minister at the Centre, in the valley and other states have raised their voices in sheer anger, but this is what they have been doing every time there has been a ‘haadsaa'like this. What is desperately needed now is action and according to many thinking and genuine Indians, it is time to even have second thoughts on ‘ahimsa'(non-violence). How many more young and precious lives will we lose in the name of ‘ahimsa'? According to a senior writer who has been involved in the fight against violence and has even been jailed because of his fiery thoughts,“ab bohat ho chuka. Aur kitne jaane lekar shaant hogi yeh ahimsa ka silsala? Ab zarurat hai hathiyar uthane ki aur halla bolne ki. Baatein bohat hogayi ab khoon ka badla khoon ka aagaya hai. Yeh mera gussa nahi bol regards hai, yeh mere watan ka pyar aur mere watan ke faujyon ke liye shradha aur sahanbhooti bol rahi hai. Aur kitne der khamosh reh kar sahenge hum yeh zulm aur atyachaar. Aaj hum sabko kasam khaani padegi ki ek aur hamla hone nahi denge hum,na sirf Kashmir mein, lekin watan ke koi bhi hisse mein". The angry feeling is unanimous, but at this crucial time we need to think about the soldiers who have become martyrs (shaheeds), those who have been seriously injured and their families. There is certainly a need to raise funds, to donate blood and make other small sacrifices to show our gratitude to our men fighting our wars to keep us safe and sleep peacefully while they live and die in the shadow of fear all the time. We in the industry see every attack life this as a subject to be made into a film, like we had films like ‘Border',‘Refugee',‘LOC'and the recently released ‘URI'based on the surgical strike. But we need to do much more. Soon after the Indo-China war the entire film industry had come out on the streets and inspired Indians to do their best to help our jawans and the way the India reacted moved one and all. The industry has been making other but smaller attempts to encourage our soldiers fighting on the border and other sensitive areas. What we need now is the kind of action the industry took in 1962. Will the industry rise to this grave situation, or will our stars and other celebrities have their bouncers and other security men to fight their own little ‘wars'to save themselves and their families and property? Socho mere watan ke film industry wallon. Yeh watan aur is watan ka har sipahi utna hi aapke liye jaan khatre mein dalta hai jitna har watanvaasi ka. Ab waqt hai unko dikhane ka ki hum unke saath hai har waqt. BANDHS, BLACK DAYS AND BANS IN BOLLYWOOD OVER TERRORIST ATTACK Anger has never been so angry, revenge has not been so thirsty, calls and screams for action have never been so shrill ever since the dastardly attacks on our soldiers in Phulwama in Kashmir. Very rarely have so many Indian have shown their feelings over the heinous happening in almost one voice. And Bollywood has been no exception. In fact, the reaction of Anupam Kher says it all in his statement in which he says enough is enough, the kind of attack cannot be tolerated by any country anywhere and if the anger keeps bounding till there is a scare that the people of India may come out on the streets and then nothing will be worse. There has been a very strong reaction among all sections of the Industry. The different associations like the Western India cine Employees Association and the All India Cine Artists Association have called for a total ban on any kind of relationship with Pakistan. On Sunday, the Industry observed a “black day” and all shootings and post production work were stopped for two hours. Protests were held at the gate of Film City where Amitabh Bachchan who was shooting for his film “Brahmastra” stopped shooting to keep with the protestors and condemned the attack in the strongest way and his condemnation led to many others. Condemning what Aamir Khan called “The most deplorable and inhuman fact of violence which must not go unpunished”. The attack has now led to some more section. There has been a complete ban on all Pakistani artists and singers. T- Series which was recording a song with a Pakistani singer voluntarily stopped recording the song with him and will now replace him with an Indian singer, most probably Armaan Malik. There is also a move to call of the songs sung by Pakistani singers for films like the Salman Khan starrer “Bharat” and another film called “Notebook”. The ban includes Rahat Fateh Ali Khan who is one of the most wanted singers in Hindi films these days. The unit of the upcoming film “Total Dhamaal” has decided not to release the film in Pakistan and there are other film makers who are planning to do the same. In another case, the actor and lyricists couple of Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar has cancelled an invitation from the Karachi Art Circle which wanted them to take part in a discussion on the work of the progressive poet, Kaifi Azmi, the father of Shabana. Salman Khan was to host a party on Sunday to announce the launching of his film, “Notebook” which will mark the debut of the veteran actress, Nutan, Pranutan who is said to be a look-alike of her grandmother and another new comer, but Salman has cancelled the party. Kangana Ranaut whose film, “Manikarnika- The Rani Of Jhansi” has passed the 100 crore mark and she too was to have a success party later this week, but she has now called off the party… A leading group which encourages artists from India to Pakistan have decided to call of all the programs they had scheduled. The protests are going to continue and there is news from the South that all the leading stars like Rajinikant, Kamal Hassan, Vijay, Vishal and the stars of Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam are also making plans to show their solidarity. But, not one of the stars have yet made any statement or decision to donate money for the welfare of the families of the soldiers who gave up their lives. In the past stars have not only made their individual contribution, but have also come out into the streets to inspire people to raise funds and have been very successful. Will the stars of today wake up to this alarming situation where 44 young soldiers have died leaving behind their old parents, their young wives and their little children? All they have to do is have one glimpse of the line-up of the 44 coffins draped in the tri-color or being sensitive artists imagine that they are the ones who are lying in those coffins. The government at the centre and in the different states will, I believe do their best to help the families of the soldiers. But isn’t, it the duty of every Indian to rise to the occasion and do their best for those who did their best to save the country, you and me? Let the souls of the soldiers not say that their people for whom they gave up their lives did nothing for them once they had become mutilated pieces of flesh and bones which would at best be given a gun salute and politicians, poets and filmmakers would use the stories of their bravery for their own purposes, motives and ends For more Bollywood updates, follow Bollyy!
