Our otherwise immensely creative Bollywood industry is also  known sometimes, for its ‘reverse-brain-drain’ instances. Where popular or award-winning foreign movies are adapted into Hindi  films. Only recently, a section of cinema-savvy audiences figured out how an Argentine (South American country) super-hit  shock-value social comedy movie ‘Igualita a mí’ (2010), apparently inspired this  latest hit Saif Ali Khan starrer ‘Jawaani Jaaneman’ .   In the past, multiple (five !!) Oscar awards winning  movie ‘Sound Of Music’ (1965)  has inspired our desi musical  hit  cinematic tribute  ‘Parichay’ (1972)  directed by iconic Gulzar-saab .  Or even this hit Hollywood Oscar-award winning musical movie ‘Seven Brides For Seven Brothers’ (1954), was Indianised and adapted into ‘Satte Pe Satta’(1982)  .

Now that this latest Korean satirical film ‘Parasite’  has won hands down with multiple (four !!) Oscar (2020) awards in categories including  Best Movie ,Best Direction, Best Screenplay and Best International Feature Film,  it shouldn’t come as a surprise,  if it gets Indianised and adapted into a desi social thriller. Directed by Bong-Joon-ho , critically acclaimed Parasite (Gisaengchung) is a 2019 South Korean dark comedy thriller film .  starring Song Kang-ho, Lee Sun-kyun, Cho Yeo-jeong, Choi Woo-shik and Park So-dam, the engaging movie-plot  follows the members of a poor family who deviously scheme to become employed by a wealthy family by infiltrating their household and posing as unrelated, highly qualified individuals.  Surely, this plot can lend itself for a redux ( remake) with Indian sensibilities of course with  formal prior permissions from and commercial dealings  with the South Korean movie producers.. Curiously enough,  in the past, we have had a few  Bollywood movies which had its chartbusting Hindi song tunes allegedly inspired by catchy South Korean folk-pop-music tunes.
