The trailer of Mani Ratnam’s directorial 'Ponniyin Selvan 2' (PS 2) was launched in Chennai on Wednesday night. The film's cast including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha Krishnan, Jayam Ravi, and Sobhita Dhulipala was seen walking the red carpet. From there, according to VT Kumar, a film journalist from the South, the discussion was on whether 'PS 2' would be able to get success like its prequel 'PS1'. Seeing the track record of the film's director Mani Ratnam and his belief in making this film, everyone's answer was positive.

It was published in a series. Ten producers from South India have taken the initiative to make a film on this masterpiece. Based on the legend of the 9th-10th century Chola Empire, Mani Ratnam had been waiting and preparing for years to make a film on this masterpiece. The first filming (PS1) of the story of Ponni Selvan (son of Ponni) based on this novel was received with great enthusiasm. The audience has seen it. Hope people will like its second edition too.
