Scene-stealer TV superstar Krushna Abhishek is super-best at spontaneous wacko comedy on The Kapil Sharma Show ( Sony TV) in his hilarious take-offs - Chaitanya Padukone
Especially when he perfectly mimics veteran Bollywood legends like Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, and Jackie Shroff or struts around as the freak-out parlour-masseuse ‘Sapna’ .
Krushna has now dared to deviate into a different filmy zone . The dynamic yet modest Krushna is almost done with shooting for this upcoming Hindi bold psycho-thriller movie ‘Red’ in which he is cast as the ‘anti-hero’ with negative shades.
Helmed by the acclaimed veteran director Ashok Tyagi the maverick movie ‘Red’ is produced by Rajeev Chaudhary ( eminent director of Sunny Leone super-hit starrer ‘Beiimaan Love’ fame).
Director Ashok Tyagi seems all charged-up as he speaks about his latest maverick movie, “ Our landmark film ‘Red’ has a suspense story with larger-than-life multi-layered characters woven into a gripping plot .
There is emotional drama, romance, crime, streaks of horror, hard-hitting dialogues, haunting melodies and alluring erotica. Tall, dashing, superstar romantic hero Krushna Abhishek, vivacious heroine Payal Ghosh and stunning actress Kanchan Bhor and evergreen Shakti Kapoor , Kamlesh Sawant (of ‘Drishyam’ fame ) have all given extraordinary performances in ‘Red’.
Actually I know Krushna, since the start of his career, when I was planning to cast him for some other movie,” shares Ashok, who has in the past directed superstar legends like Dev Anand-Dharmendra (The Return of Jewel Thief) and Rajesh Khanna ( Riyasat).
Explains charismatic producer Rajeev, “Our entertainer movie ‘Red--the Colour of Passion’ is a bold sensational journey of a poor-to-riches creative eminent writer (Krushna) and his a young beautiful girl played by Payal ( of ‘Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi’ fame with co-star Rishi Kapoor), who then transcends into a wife and then an aristocratic escort-girl.
Honestly I have been a great fan of Krushna’s acting ability and feel that he is a complete superstar (actor-dancer-performer ) who has untapped versatile acting potential.
Unfortunately, millions of his fans ( watching Kapil Sharma show ) fans know Krushna more as a brilliant comedian and for his punch-lines.
In our movie ‘Red’, it will be a revelation for his ardent fans to check him out as a lover-boy and serious intense performer minus any frivolous comedy,” shrugs Chaudhary, who plans to have a theatrical ( ‘Diwali dhamaaka’ ) release of his slick thriller movie and then later on, release it on leading OTT platforms.
Meanwhile dedicated-actor Krushna Abhishek is enthusiastic about his riveting role as he opens up to the media, “My complex character ‘Rajveer’ in ‘Red’ was challenging for me and it allowed me to step out of my ‘comfort-zone’.
This time I play a ‘serious-intense’ character who has nothing to do with comedy. Out here, I am cast as a romantic lover-boy who goes berserk ( Casanova ‘lady-killer’?) when some shocking twist-of-destiny takes place in his life.
Besides allowing me to prove my versatile caliber, my lead role in ‘Red’ is so contrastingly different from my telly-show-funster-image, that my die-hard fans and audiences can never even fantasize me doing it,” signs off Krushna with his ‘natkhat’ smile.
