While there is a lot of debate about male actors getting stronger roles, Mrunal Thakur is going against the tide in the industry to be picked and being the actor that filmmakers are going to for strong character and titular roles.

The actor debuted with the movie Love Sonia, where she played the role of Sonia. Even her next, her south debut is a film where the actress is set to play a titular lead in her south debut and has now been signed on for her next, Pooja Meri Jaan, in which she essays the role of Pooja.

Mrunal says, “I am grateful to have got such opportunities so early on in my career. Even when I entered the industry I was aware of the struggle that comes along with it, but my sole focus was to give my best and let my journey speak through my work.

And what makes me even happier is people like it and appreciate it as well. It is the biggest encouragement that any actor can get. Of course it’s amazing when you play a character that is established within the title itself.

People still remember me as Sonia and that’s the impact that a titular role can have for you. So I’m excited for these upcoming films too and it’s really my makers, who I’m grateful to give me parts of these kinds which are layered and strong”.

The 29-year-old actor is making her Telugu debut with Sita Ramam where she is paired opposite the heartthrob, Dulquer Salmaan.

The film, which is also dubbed in Tamil and Malayalam, was shot in Kashmir and Hyderabad and is set to be released on August 5, 2022. Its first two singles, Oh Sita Hey Rama and Inthandham, have already been chartbusters.

The latest movie of hers that was recently announced was Pooja Meri Jaan, a thriller by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films. The film stars Huma Qureshi, Mrunal Thakur, Vikram Singh Chauhan and Vijay Raaz.
