Some of the best international music artists visited India in 2017. We have had Justin Bieber and The Chainsmokers performing live in India earlier this year. The "Shape of You" singer Ed Sheeran also visited India in November. Well, it seems the musical party is not over yet as we have the Rapper Wiz Khalifa and Hip Hop king Jason Derulo playing in Timeout 72 for our New Year party.
Yes, You read that right, the American rapper-actor Wiz Khalifa and multi-platinum recording artist Jason Derulo and world's no. 1 DJ Martin Garrix will be performing at the TimeOut72 festival to be held at the shores of Vagator in Goa on the December 27, 28 and 29.
The multi-genre music festival which will have music on 4 stages spread over 3 days in the exciting weather of December just before NYE. Unlike other festivals which didn't receive the Govt approval, Timeout 72 Hours is supported by the Govt. of Goa.
All the three artists are very excited about their first-time visit to India. Khalifa wants to taste Indian Food and hear excited to hear some Indian music also.
Hindustan Times reported that both the American artist are keen to explore the state Goa and they might extend their stay in Goa. The same leading daily quoted a source saying, “It’s true that the artists will be spending additional days in India and the promoters are drawing up a local itinerary for them while they are in Goa. There are no plans to visit any other city right now.”
The source also added,
“A part of the itinerary is a tour of historical sites in Goa, such as Fort Aguada, Basilica of Bom Jesus, Se Cathedral, and also a quick visit to the local flea market. Body massage and private yoga sessions by the beach are also on the cards. A special day has been reserved for a charity session with underprivileged children, who’ll be celebrating Christmas with the artists.”
The hotel where the artists will stay is curating a special vegetarian spread for the health-conscious Derulo that includes paneer makhani, Hyderabadi biryani, chole bhature, and idli dosa. Wiz, on the other hand, will be treated to Goa food prepared by Chef Rego.
Security will be beefed up in Goa 30 days before their arrival, with hygiene checks at the venue, coastline and festival arena. Special security forces, who were there for the Justin Bieber concert in Mumbai, will be flown in from Dubai for Wiz and Derulo. A private sit-down dinner with Bollywood celebrities is also on the cards. Invites have been sent to the likes of Farhan Akhtar, Alia Bhatt, Vishal Shekhar, Monica Dogra, Sonu Nigam, and Arijit Singh, among others.
Wiz Khalifa is known for his collaborations with some of the biggest names in the industry like, Bruno Mars, Charlie Puth and Maroon 5, to name a few. He has also done official soundtracks for Hollywood blockbusters like The Fast and Furious 7 and The Fate Of The Furious.
