I had heard about sinners turning into saints , you must also have heard about such great human beings. But I have just heard the strange story about a saint turning into a sinner - Ali Peter John

I am talking about Govinda Ahuja , the boy from Virar who had established his own school of dancing and acting and was considered to be a star in a class of his own.

He was known for his devotion to his mother who he considered to be a goddess. He was a family man who was dedicated to his family.

He conducted long poojas in his apartment at Jal Darshan, even at the cost of keeping his producers and directors waiting for his darshan for hours and keeping the shootings of films on hold.

He was a bhakt in the true sense of the word and bowed and prayed before every small and big temple .

He was perhaps the only star who did not attend film parties , never smoked or drank and was hated by the gossip press for not giving them controversial or juicy stories as they called them.

He was a strict vegetarian and his milk man's bill came to a staggering one lakh of rupees per month.

He was so fond of milk that he once even kept a buffalo in his apartment to get his quota of his milk without which he said he couldn't function .

However , a time came when his films flopped . The kind of films he was known for stopped being made.

His disrespect for time became his biggest drawback . The coming in of several new actors seemed to give him a complex and Govindaa, the busiest and biggest young
Star was suddenly a jobless actor.

He turned to politics and contested the Lok Sabhaa elections and defeated a senior BJP leader Ram Naik who was so shattered that he renounced politics and ended up as the governor of Uttar Pradesh .

Govinda however couldn't do anything as a politician and was not even considered as a good enough candidate for the elections of 2019.

He was so desperate that he kept meeting filmmakers like a struggler again, the only difference was that he was a struggler travelling in a Mercedes .

But he only received a few offers which he took , but those films have still to be released. He tried producing his own film, "Sukh" but this film also failed to make any impact.

He was lying low for several moths , was looking like a shadow of what he was when the sun was shinning only for him.

He was seen in different places with his wife Sumita , but he never made any statement or an announcement about what he had planned for his future...

And now since the last two weeks everyone is talking about the baghawat of chi chi bhayiyaa.

He has been pointing out names of those who he believes were responsible for his being thrown out of films and those who tried their worst to throw him out of the industry.

He has been talking about himself as a victim of nepotism. And what is most shocking is that he is saying that he was an innocent and pious man when he was at the very top and how his experiences had changed him into a bitter man.

He now claims that he has taken to drinking and smoking and attending parties which he oncce called " Centres of gossip" .

He now talks about starting his career all over again as a new Govinda . I who have seen from the day he first came to Bombay in the early 80's can only wish him well .

Agar yeh badlaaon lanaa hi thaa, toh chi chi bhaiyaa koh bahat pahele lanaa chahiye thaa. Lekin govinda jaise kalakaar ke liye kal aur aaj se kyaa fark padtaa hain?
