From using the stored water to traveling by public transport, here is what these celebrities are doing to save nature.

The number one thing that I do is use stored water around the house instead of running water. When the water purifier emits impure water, we collect it in glasses and then deposit it to the plants around the house. My mom is huge on composting and has several jungles around the house, so we usually use all the food scraps as fodder for them, which makes them stronger and also reduces the wet waste. We have two separate dustbins, one for wet waste, and one for dry waste as our society is also pretty kicked about helping the environment. Also, when I'm traveling, I almost always use public transportation to travel - auto rickshaws mainly, I dislike cars.

I don't drive quickly or recklessly because doing so leads to higher petrol consumption, which is not good for the environment. In our housing society, we separate wet waste from dry waste, benefiting the Mumbai BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) and being eco-friendly. However, there is still no clear solution for handling plastics. I have to sort dry and wet waste separately, but I'm also required to use plastics. I believe the government should consider banning plastics and offering alternative options for environmental safety. Additionally, I always try to use less electricity so that others can have access to it.

The environment is very crucial for us. I have experienced things on the ground level. I am from a farmer's family and was born and brought up in Bihar. My grandfather was a farmer and we used to go to the farm together. I also practiced farming till the age of 13, and know about the procedures of ploughing, and sowing. I do have an idea about which seeds are sown in which season. After experiencing nature, I understand its value. It's not wrong to say that if we don't save the environment, nobody else can save our lives. To help save the environment, I would like to ask people to take certain measures like saving electricity and decreasing the use of plastic, and it will somewhere help us to cause less harm to nature. It is high time now, and we should start taking the environmental issues seriously before it gets too late and things slip off our hands. On my part, I try to use fewer plastic bags, use copper or steel bottles for daily purposes, and have a check on electricity consumption. I do advise you to have a look at your vehicle's PUC.

I make a conscious effort to conserve energy by turning off lights, appliances, and electronic devices when they are not in use. I avoid single-use plastics as much as possible and I am mindful of my water usage. I ensure that my vehicles are well-maintained and undergo regular emissions testing (PUC) to minimize air pollution. Trees absorb carbon dioxide and provide oxygen. Planting trees and maintaining green spaces in your community can improve air quality. Remember that small actions can collectively make a big difference. By adopting environmentally friendly practices in our daily lives and advocating for positive changes in our communities we can contribute to a healthier and more sustainable planet.

Every day should be World Environment Health Day. By taking small steps like switching off lights, avoiding plastic, separating garbage, nurturing potted plants, and ensuring vehicle emissions are in check, we can make a big impact. To safeguard our planet, we must prioritize sustainability, conservation, and responsible choices, not just on September 26th, but every day of the year.

On World Environment Health Day and every day, I commit to being a responsible steward of our planet. I conserve energy by switching off lights, reducing plastic usage, practicing waste separation, nurturing potted plants, ensuring my vehicle's PUC compliance, and embracing carpooling for a greener commute. Let's all take small steps to protect our environment because collective efforts yield lasting change.

When it comes to the environment, even the slightest step helps. I was surprised to learn about global warming as I was aware that today's actions can contribute to a better world future. I try to minimize my impact on the environment by conserving energy, not just at home but also when I visit friends and family. Even when I travel, I always carry a little bag with me in which to save the packaging and boxes of any food products before discarding them. For me, plastic is a huge no. I have been acting in this way ever since I first learned about climate change and global warming, so it's not like I just began doing it now.
