Wow! A list Choreographer debuts as an actor in a music video!

Noted choreographer Rajit Dev who has been directing and choreographing music videos is debuting as an actor - Jyothi Venkatesh

He will be seen in a song along with Divya Agarwal titled Kareeb, the song is sung by Vishal Dadlani.

Speaking more about the song Rajit says,” Kareeb is a very peppy funky dance track. It means closeness and this song will be very close to me as this is my debut song as the main lead.

Vishal Dadlani has always been one of my favorite singers. One of the reasons why I did the song was because it was sung by Vishal.

He’s an amazing singer/music director. I’ve choreographed a lot of his songs Tehes Nehes from Khali Pili was his composition and then in the past, I worked on all songs from Befikre Sultan, Tiger Zinda Ha, and Bharat as an assistant choreographer.

I have always loved choreographing for him.” He also adds,” I want people to see a new side of me. I’ve been teaching and training actors for over 100 songs in my career as an assistant and a choreographer. This is the first time I’m playing a hero in a song. My expectation is just that the audience supports us and shows us love for the work that we have done.”

On asking about his acting debut in the song Rajit adds,” This is a debut for me in front of the camera.

I loved the whole process. It was a little hectic for me on the sets because I have also choreographed the song, I had to explain the shots to the camera team and then perform. The whole experience is cherishable.”

On defining his costar Divya in the song he says,” Divya is a sweetheart. We got along very well from day one of rehearsals and we made sure we will give our best for the video.

And I think she’s nailed it. She will be always special as she is my first co-star.” So will you work more as an actor?

“Yes, I will definitely do more work as an actor. This is just the beginning.”On the USP of the song Rajit says,” The USP of the song is the energetic dance, great chemistry between Divya and me and of course Vishal’s voice.

” The video is directed by my friend Udit Jawrani. The song is composed by Goldie Shohel, with lyrics by Kunal Verma. The music video is releasing on 11th May.
