This weekend ( November 4th) pan-India cinema theatre audiences pan-India are having fantastic options of three heroine-centric family-entertainer films clashing with each other with daringly different subjects. As is known to all, very few films have done well at the box office among Diwali 2022 releases-blockbusters like Ram Setu and Thank God have not emerged mega-hits  at the box office. On the other, Southside regional (dubbed) movies like Kantara and Ponniyin Selvan continue to be mega-hit money-spinners in every language.

Upcoming talented  Bollywood star actress Jhanvi Kapoor ( ‘Mili’)will face a dramatic clash with Katrina Kaif  ( ‘Phone Bhoot’) and Sonakshi Sinha ( ‘Double XL’) at the all-India box office. However, it will be interesting who emerges as the ultimate winner among the three daring star actresses.

Phone Bhoot                                                                                                                                                       Scary-hot Bhootni is the evergreen beautiful Katrina Kaif who plays the ‘Bhoot’, it also features Ishaan Khatter and Siddhant Chaturvedi in goofy crazy roles. The horror-comedy is directed by Gurmeet Singh, the trailer of the flick was well received by the viewers and it promises a lot of fun and entertainment.

Double XL is an off-beat funny with a social message bold subject with ‘heavyweights’  Huma Qureshi & Sonakshi Sinha, and it is directed by Satramm Ramani. It is filmed in Meerut, Delhi & London and challenges bodyweight stereotypes that have long caused a stigma-tag embarrassment in society. It is a comedy-drama that revolves around two plus-size women. The trailer of the movie seems like a fun ride that depicts massive potential to spark social debate and controversy around the sensitive yet realistic subject.

Mili is an engaging survival thriller film featuring Jhanvi Kapoor (‘Late’ Sridevi’s daughter) and its the official Hindi remake of the Malayalam movie Helen 2019. It is produced by Boney Kapoor and directed by Mathukutty Xavier. It also features Sunny Kaushal and Manoj Pahwa in key roles.

Performance-wise all three top star actresses Katrina Kaif, Sonakshi have put in excellent performances. In terms of crazy comedy entertainment-wise, Phone-Bhoot and Double XL have an edge over Mili.  There is a tough box-office competition among the three movies in terms of which film will lure and attract maximum female and family audiences. .

Why suddenly half a dozen films ( or even many more) are releasing almost every week is what most readers and cinema-goers  are  very curious to know ?  According to senior cine-trade box-office expert-analyst Amod Mehra  known for his frank, honest views says, “The answer is simple.. The proposal makers made most of these films with the sole aim of premiering them directly on OTT.. and pocketing huge profits.. But OTT platforms have now got wiser.. and decided to  buy the films—Only after checking their theatre Box-Office results. The Janata Janardhan have given their frank response verdicts.. By 'social distancing' from most of those half-baked movie projects,” informs Amod Mehra.
