“A film festival needs to be ethical and impartial, and that is exactly what Bollywood International Film Festival strives to be,” said Bollywood International Film Festival founder-chairperson Pratibha Sharma and actor-director Yashpal Sharma at the media meet of the film festival.

Of the 200 plus entries received by the Bollywood International Film Festival (BIFF), the best were chosen by an eminent team of international filmmakers.

The festival also showcased a special screening of Yashpal Sharma’s Dada Lakhmi, the Haryanvi film that has won more than 68 awards globally.

While the eminent jury comprised of Ashok Rane, Amit Rai, Sandeep Sharma, French actress Marine Borbo and Tauqeer Ahmed from Bangladesh, the BIFF members Monika Davar, Minaxi Singh, Dalbir Singh, Sameer Chowdhary, Tabassum Jahan, Alpana Suhasini, Sunil Bainiwal, Vishal Sharma and Tapan Patani were present along with Dr Anusha Srinivasan Iyer.

“Our aim is to introduce people to quality cinema, whether it be feature film, short film, mobile film or a documentary.” Films from the US, Afghanistan, Iran and many European countries will be a part of this festival that also had masterclasses for industry aspirants.

In the Animation Film category, Best Director was won by Bellopropello, for the film The Game Just Got Real. In the Mobile Film category, director Elizabeth Marlo was felicitated for the film Time, Best Documentary (Foreign) was won by director Maurice Micallef for the film The Phoenicians, Best Documentary Award (Indian) was won by director Anna Bohlmark for the film Big Social Nomad, Best Webseries Award was won by director Satendra Satya Saharawat for the series Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi.

In the Short Film category, the Best Short Film award was won by director Akshay Gauri for the film Beholden, Best Actress Award was won by Diksha Juneja for the film Beholden, Best Director was won by Laxmi R Iyer for the film First Second Chance, Best Cinematography was won by Nagraj MD for the film Feast For Bandits, Best Director was won by Sanjeev Raj for the film Feast For Bandits.

In the Feature Film Category, Best Background Score was won by Music Director Abhinav Singh for the film Who I Am, Best Cinematography was won by Kartik Katkar for the film Bunny, Best Dialogue was won by Ishrat R Khan for the film Guthlee Ladoo, Best Screenplay was won by Ashish Nehera for the film Pinjre Ki Titliyaan, Best Story was won by Jitendra Barde for the film Morya, Best Child Artist (Female) was won by Duwa Fatima for the film The Sparrow, Best Child Actor (Male) was won by Dhyan Seth for the film Guthlee Ladoo, Best Supporting Actor (Female) was won by Ruchita Deol for the film Pinjre Ki Titliyaan, Best Supporting Actor (Male) was won by Subrato Dutta for the film  Guthlee Ladoo, Best Actor (Female) was won by Rasika Chandani for the film Who I Am, Best Actor (Male) was won by Chetan Sharma for the film Who I Am, Best Director Award was won by Nilesh Upadhyay for the film Bunny. Best Feature Film was won by Guthlee Ladoo directed by Ishrat R Khan.

The Founder’s Choice Award for Best Actor was won by Jitendra Barde for the film Morya. The BIFF Special Mention Award was won by Eram Faridi for the film Meet Mr Chang and was received by Creative Director Faiz Ali Wagle. The Lifetime Achievement Awards were won by Asha Parekh and Bachan Pachehra.
