Yogesh Tripathi is ecstatic that his character Happu, from the show Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, has finally got a show of its own, Happu Singh Ki Ulti Paltan produced by Benifer S. Kohli and Sanjay Kohli. The actor says that he had never imagined this would happen. “I feel great as when people like your character, you always hope that more of him will be shown in the show. In the beginning, I used to feel that Happu Singh’s family should be shown in Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain. But I never have thought that a show will come on Happu Singh. It’s amazing that the character I was playing has received so much adulation and love from the audience,” says Yogesh, who has been seen in shows such as F.I.R, Meri Doli Tere Angana, Balika Vadhu, Chidiya Ghar and LapataGanj.
In fact, Happu has become a big part of Yogesh’s life too. “It has become an important part of my life. Before that, in F.I.R, I used to do various characters but it never came to notice. But as Happu was a recurring character so it was loved by everyone,” he says.
In fact, Yogesh relates a lot to Happu. “The happy-go-lucky nature of Happu is what I relate to the most. As I am the same in real life. I am a true ‘mast maula’,” he says.
The title of the new show is very unique and Yogesh loves it. “The title is very different and this is why it will stick with the audience. I am sure they will love the show. In fact, the show is receiving a grand response since the promo has come out. I have received a very positive response from the public and they are eagerly waiting for the upcoming episodes,” he says.
Talking about working with the producers Sanjay and Binaifer Kohli, he says, “I have been working for the last 10 years with Edit II. It’s always great working with them and they have always given me good roles and I have given my best to them.”
