Yoodlee Films’ and makers of Hamid have decided on a new date for the film release post the Pulwama terror attacks in Kashmir. The film is now slated to release on 15th March. The film was earlier supposed to be released on 1st March.  However to show solidarity with the martyrs of the ghastly attacks on CRPF Jawans in Pulwama the makers had decided to delay the release.

Director Aijaz Khan says, “The nation was going through a state of grief and turmoil and we wanted to be one with the people of our country. Hamid is above all a film about peace, love and most importantly about healing each other. We hope that Hamid helps in spreading this very important message of love and redemption in these conflicted times.”

‘Hamid’ explores the unlikely bond between an eight-year-old boy, named Hamid and a CRPF Jawan – who find each other in the most trying of circumstances. They form a relationship that helps them find redemption and closure through dialogue and conversation. The film has been shot entirely in Kashmir and the eight-year-old protagonist cast is a local Kashmiri boy.

Siddharth Anand Kumar, VP TV and Films Saregama India and producer at Yoodlee Films’ says,” We at Yoodlee Films’ stood in solidarity with the victims of the Pulwama attack and had decided to push the release date for later time. Now with the film releasing on 15th March, we believe now is the time that perhaps the film will be better understood, and perhaps more relevant, with its narrative that calls for peace and closure."

Hamid' premiered globally at the Jio MAMI 20th Mumbai Film Festival with Star in October 2018. ‘Hamid’, directed by Aijaz Khan, has won hearts of festival viewers with its simple and unique storylibe and became one of the top films to watch out for year 2019. It also bagged two prestigious awards at the fifth edition of the Rajasthan International Film Festival (RIFF) held in Jaipur for the Best Actor won by Rasika Dugal and the Best Director won by Aijaz Khan.
