Yoodlee Films, known for creating some of the most critically acclaimed cinema in recent times, has had its second Netflix Original release with its film, Music Teacher.

Music Teacher, directed by Sarthak Dasgupta, is a story about an emotionally troubled music teacher, essayed by Manav Kaul, who gets a chance to come to terms with his bitterness with an estranged student, now a renowned celebrity singer of Bollywood. The music teacher vows to get back everything he lost in the past risking all his achievements in the present day.

The film boasts of music by Rochak Kohli, who has recreated two Kishore Kumar classics, alongside producing the original songs, which have been sung by the likes of Jubin Nautiyal, Shreya Ghoshal, and Neeti Mohan.

Speaking of the partnership between Yoodlee Films and Netflix, Siddharth Anand Kumar, VP, TV and Films, Saregama and Yoodlee Films, says, “Netflix is a platform that reaches the widest global audience of 148 million members across 190 countries, and we are thrilled that Music Teacher is the second Netflix Original from Yoodlee Films to premiere on the service. With this release, after Brij Mohan Amar Rahe in 2018, we are able to keep our commitment of telling good stories and reaching out to relevant audiences, all over the world.”

Yoodlee Films, which came into being in 2017, has spearheaded the cause of independent cinema in the mainstream Bollywood market, and has consistently churned out cinematic content that has found national and international critical acclaim and resonance with millennial audiences. A look at their roster of films so far reveals the wide variety of subjects they have brought forth across screens : from the hard hitting revenge drama between an old grandmother and a dastardly politician - Ajji, to the sensitively portrayed love story in the times of social media - Kuchh Bheege Alfaaz, from the quirky comedy of identities - Brij Mohan Amar Rahe to the pathos filled tale of redemption and hope between two unlikeliest of characters in Kashmir -  Hamid, from the edgy and bold Ascharyachakit and now the tale of love and longing with Music Teacher -  one sees the consistency in sticking to its promise of strong fearless cinema. All of these films are available on Netflix, placing this new boutique production house in an unique and enviable position.
