The much-awaited book launch of The Millennial Kitchen by mother and daughter Tanvi and Mira Shah, was an eventful affair, held today at the Eva Room in Soho House, Mumbai.
When a 17-year-old girl co-authors a book with her mother, it’s time to sit up and take notice. And that’s just what Mumbai City did, when 17-year-old Mira Shah and her mother, Tanvi Shah, self-published and launched their very first book - The Millennial Kitchen. Acting on an urge to do something that would not only bring a sense of joy and purpose to the lifestyles of millennials, but also help those in need, Mira and her mother decided that all the proceeds from sales of their book, would go to the highly reputed Akshaya Patra Foundation, based in South India - an NGO that runs the largest mid-day program for school children, in India.
After many months of hard work, The Millennial Kitchen was officially launched on 11 October, 2019, at the Eva Room in Mumbai’s Soho House. Guests at the event included a host of celebrated personalities, including Indian cricketer Zaheer Khan and Asif Bhamla of Bhamla Foundation, to name a few. Everybody seemed to enjoy the elaborate photo booth set-up. Tanvi and Mira Shah were all smiles as they interacted with guests and chatted about the many wonderful recipes that you will find in the book.
As the evening progressed, both Tanvi and Mira took to the stage to speak to the guests and thank them for attending the event, following which Manu ji of the Akshaya Patra Foundation (Manu Mehrotra Director Operations and Projects at Akshaya Patra), shared a few words. Guests were also spotted mingling with the others, while sampling dishes made using recipes from The Millennial Kitchen. Each one was also encouraged to leave behind a review of both the dishes and the book.
“It means the world to me to finally be launching this book. It’s like a dream come true. With the Akshaya Patra Foundation’s support, I hope that The Millennial Kitchen will help those who need it most.” Mira Shah said.
“This is an extremely proud moment for me, both as a mother and as an author. We’ve dedicated ourselves wholly to this book and a lot of love has been slipped between its pages! We hope that our readers enjoy whipping up these dishes at their homes, just as much as we have enjoyed creating them.” signed off Tanvi Shah.
