Shahid Kapoor Joins Cast of Mythological Tale 'Ashwatthama'

Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor is all set to star in a high-octane action film titled 'Ashwatthama: The Saga Continues'.

Shahid Kapoor is stepping into mythology for his next project. The actor, last seen in Teri Baton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, will officially act in Ashwatthama - The Saga Continues. This is Shahid's first attempt at portraying a mythological character in a film to be released on Amazon Prime Video.

Ashwatthama – The Saga Continues is a mythological drama that reimagines the legend of the immortal warrior Ashwatthama from the epic Mahabharata. This film is based on the background of rapid technological progress in the present times. Here, Ashwatthama confronts the complexities of the modern world while facing off against formidable foes in a high-octane action tale.

Sharing the announcement on the social media handle, the team of the streaming giant wrote, “Ashvatthama, the immortal warrior cursed by his past, must play his destined role as a hero, finding his true calling to defeat the dark forces and restore harmony. “Power must be used. The world is on the brink of anarchy.”

As the story progresses, the film delves deeper into the psyche of this immortal creature. We see how Ashwatthama grapples with the burden of looking back at thousands of years of human history and how he sees the world around him.

The announcement comes after filmmaker Aditya Dhar's proposed Ashwatthama project starring Vicky Kaushal was postponed due to budgetary constraints.
