Achal Surinder "Boney" Kapoor (born 11 November 1953) is an Indian film producer primarily associated with Hindi cinema, although she has also produced Tamil and Telugu films.

Boney Kapoor was born on 11 November 1953 in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. His father, Surinder Kapoor, was a well-known Bollywood producer. His family migrated to India from Peshawar (now the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region of Pakistan) after Partition. Boney Kapoor was born into a Punjabi Hindu family and was raised in the Arya Samaj ideology. His two younger brothers—Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor—are both actors and producers. He received his education from Our Lady of Perpetual Succour High School and St. Xavier's College, Mumbai.
Beginning of filmmaking career

When Boney was 20, he worked as an apprentice with editor Kamalakar Karkhanis. He worked as an assistant on Shakti Samantha's film The Great Gambler (1979), in which he also had a small uncredited role as Amitabh Bachchan 's body double. Interestingly, he had no interest in films in his early days – he wanted to work in a yarn trading company.
Mr. India (1987): Turning point of his career

His most famous film was "Mr. India," directed by Shekhar Kapur. The film starred his brother Anil Kapoor, and his future wife, Sridevi. It became the second biggest hit of 1987 and is still considered a cult classic of Indian cinema. Amrish Puri's famous dialogue, "Mogambo khush hua!", was etched in history. The film's songs, especially "Hawa Hawai," remain popular even today. Mr. India was included in the list of the 100 best films of Indian cinema.

It became the second-highest-grossing film of that year.
