The son of actor couple Shammi Kapoor and Geeta Bali is a retired businessman born into the famous Kapoor family in 1956. He has been in business since 1973 as an assistant in films like Bobby (1973), Dharam Karam (1975), Satyam Shivam Sundaram (1978), and many more.
He turned producer with the 1989 film Gawaahi, which had Zeenat Aman, Tanuja, and Shekhar Kapoor as lead stars. Then trying his hands at producing with television shows like; Ek Do Teen Char (1987-1988) and Mama Ji (1992-1993).
The producer-director-actor then went on Hiatus from Bollywood, only to make a comeback as a Writer and Director with Don’t Stop Dreaming and Sambar Salsa which were both released in 2007.
In 1982, Aditya Raj Kapoor married Priti Kapoor and now the couple currently resides in Goa away from all the glitz and glamour of Showbiz.

The Kapoor lineage then got him into acting just like his father and grandfather. Debuting with Jagmohan Mundhra’s Chase in 2010, following in Chase he plays the role of a businessman who falls for a prostitute in Mumbai. He also starred in films like Diwangi Ne Had Kar Di (2010), Isi Life Mein (2010), and Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 (2011) to name a few.
He is also an avid Biker, who turned to his heart's desire to become a Biker at a later stage of his life and make his life all about traveling on his bike. In 2014, he participated in a bike ride contest INDIA HAI in which he covered several states in India and countries like Nepal and Bhutan.
He went on to be an Author for his book BIKE ON HIKE published in 2015, in which he told all about his experience being on the road on his bike for an extended period in this later stage of his life and how he goes about it.
