Happy Birthday, NTR Jr.! A Tollywood Titan Turns 41

Today, May 20th, we celebrate the birthday of a true Telugu cinema titan, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao Jr., fondly known as Jr. NTR or Tarak. A true legacy player in Telugu cinema. Born in 1983, Tarak carries the weight of a legendary name – his grandfather, the matinee idol and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N.T. Rama Rao Sr. Jr. NTR has carved his formidable path in the industry, establishing himself as one of the highest-paid actors and a recipient of numerous accolades. 

Won National Film Award as a child actor

Tarak's cinematic journey began early. He appeared as a child actor in films like "Brahmarshi Viswamitra" (1991) and "Ramayanam" (1997), the latter winning the National Film Award. His official debut as a lead actor came in 2001 with "Ninnu Choodalani." But it was films like "Student No. 1" (2001) and "Aadi" (2002) that catapulted him to stardom.

Versatility across genres

NTR Jr. then cemented his place as a top Telugu star with a string of successful films across genres. From the action-packed "Simhadri" (2003) and the fantasy drama "Yamadonga" (2007) – for which he won his first Filmfare Award – to the romantic comedy "Brindavanam" (2010) and the action entertainer "Baadshah" (2013), he showcased his impressive range.
His powerful performances continued with films like "Temper" (2015), the critically acclaimed "Nannaku Prematho" (2016) – which earned him another Filmfare Award – the multi-starrer "Janatha Garage" (2016), and the historical drama "Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava" (2018).

Became a global star with RRR

The year 2022 saw NTR Jr. reach new heights with the global phenomenon "RRR." Directed by S. S. Rajamouli, the film became his highest-grossing release ever, further solidifying his position as a pan-India star.

A host for the shows 

Beyond acting, Jr. NTR has also proven his mettle as a television host, leading the first season of the Telugu reality show "Bigg Boss" and currently hosting the popular game show "Evaru Meelo Koteeswarulu."

Upcoming projects 

As Rama Rao Jr. steps into his 41st year, his upcoming projects promise much excitement. He reunites with director Koratala Siva for "Devara" and is set to make his Bollywood debut in "War 2" alongside Hrithik Roshan.
