No one from the film industry supported Adhyayan during his bad phase

Adhyayan, who started his acting career with the film 'Haal-e-Dil' in 2008, in his 16-year long career as an actor, has worked in films like 'Raaz - The Mystery Continues', 'Jashn', 'Dehradun Diaries', ' Have done great films like 'Himmatwala'. Apart from this, Adhyayan has also worked as a director. Let us tell you that along with films, Adhyayan has also worked in web series like 'Damaged 2', 'Ashram', and 'Inspector Avinash'. Currently, Adhyayan is garnering praise for his character Zoravar Ali Khan in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Netflix series 'Heeramandi'.

Your character in the Heeramandi series is being appreciated a lot. What would you like to say about this?

I am very happy and consider myself lucky that I got this opportunity. Every actor dreams of working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. I got a chance to play two characters in it. One is the young version of Zulfikar and the other is of Zoravar Ali Khan. All the characters of this series have received a lot of love from all over the world. Heeramandi was a women-centric show but I did not know that the Nawabs would be praised so much in it. Nothing could be happier for me than this.

You have been working in this industry for 15 years. After this role, people are not tired of praising you. How do you look at this time since your struggle?

I have faced a lot of difficulties in my life, there was a lot of darkness in my life and now there is a lot of light. I think this is the beginning I was waiting for. There is a long way to go from here and a lot of work to do. I always wanted my work to reach as many people as possible and now due to the release of this series on Netflix, this series can be seen in 192 countries. I have received messages from people in countries like China, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the UK regarding this series and my character. Now wherever you go, people are talking only about Heeramandi and the truth is that only Sanjay Sir can do this. I only hope that the industry gives me opportunities to do similar roles in the future.

Your father Shekhar Suman told us about that moment when Manisha Ji praised your work and Sanjay Leela Bhansali called Shekhar Ji and praised you. How was that moment for you?

It was very magical. When no one was talking about you, then a director who is admired by the world and with whom every actor wants to work talked about you. To be honest, his praise is more than any award for me. Even at the success party of the series, Sanjay Sir talked a lot about my work in public, at that time I was not able to understand what to do. Should I touch his feet or what should I do? Sanjay Leela Bhansali's praise is a big thing for an actor. Sanjay sir does not talk unless he feels that the actor is worthy of talking, and when he talks, he talks openly. He spoke openly about me for which I will be grateful to him throughout my life. I just hope that I get a chance to work with him once again.

How special is it for you to share this success with your father?

It is very special because it also has his blessings, he wanted me to move ahead in life. I also wanted that people should love my father and people have been giving him so much love for the last 40 years. And now we are working together and people have liked our character very much. My mother is the happiest at this time, she has prayed a lot for both of us that everything goes well in our lives. Heeramandi has given us an atmosphere of happiness and celebration.

After so much time, you have got the success you wanted, what would you like to say about it?

People used to ask me what success is, I think I am probably a very successful person because I have fought a lot to reach here today. This journey has been very difficult, there were many days when no one wanted to answer my phone, and no one wanted to open the doors of this industry for you. No one in the industry wanted to see me or wanted to be associated with me. I have reached here only after fighting many difficulties and having faith in myself. I am getting very good messages from people on social media, reading which gives me pleasure. There can be nothing greater for an actor than when the audience roots for you.

Who were your inspirations in these fifteen years?

My family has been my inspiration. My family has supported and loved me a lot at every turn. When things were not going well, we did not talk about it. Every day I woke up in the morning and thought about what to do next. Because I am not one of those people who want their father to recommend them. I wanted to do something on my strength. I always used to tell people that I was the best example of nepotism because nepotism has not worked for me yet. If there was nepotism, many films would have been made in our house. We made a film together, not because my father wanted to re-launch me but because he knew my capabilities. You have to fight your own battle by entering the field. I have never stopped in life. When I was not getting work as an actor, I became a director, and after that, I started singing. After this, I got 'Ashram' in which I had a very small role but along with 'Ashram' my character also became a hit. After that, I started getting work again but then the pandemic came and the films stopped. After that luck opened big doors for me when I auditioned for Heeramandi at that time I did not get that role but after two months that role came back to me.

What was your reaction when you were given the brief about this character and what was your reaction when you came to know that this is Sanjay Leela Bhansali's project?

Excitement and madness are very small words for this I was just numb. I couldn't believe that something that had gone from my hands had come back to me. That day I became convinced that no one can take away what is written in one's destiny. This show was written in my destiny, and that is why it came back to me. When I gave a very good scene and Sanjay sir hugged me and called my father to praise me, I did not know how to react because I was not used to praise. I was not used to something good happening to me. I used to think that something bad would always happen to me in life. When things started getting better, I started feeling that maybe good days would come in my life too. Now I feel that when people have given me so much love, then I am doing something good in my life. This journey has just begun and we have a long way to go from here.

How was the experience of working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali?

The experience of working with him was magical. I always say that a sir's thinking begins from where an actor's thinking ends. There is no one in this world better than Sanjay sir. I consider myself very lucky that I got the opportunity to work with him, and as a student, I got to learn a lot from him.

How was the experience of working with Manisha ji?

He is an institution in himself. He is a great performer. Even when we were working on the set, he gave me a lot of love and respect. I enjoyed working with him.

What would you like to say to your fans?

What I want to say is that people who have seen my work before and were waiting for new work to come are now messaging and writing very lovely messages. Thank you all for waiting so long.
