Born on April 5, 1996, Rashmika's journey has been nothing short of phenomenal. From charming audiences in Kannada films to taking Bollywood by storm, she's carved a niche for herself with her infectious smile and impactful performances.
From Tollywood to Bollywood
Rashmika's journey began in 2016 with the Kannada film "Kirik Party." She then set sail in Tollywood with the romantic comedy "Chalo". The real turning point came with the blockbuster romance "Geetha Govindam" that same year, which earned her the prestigious Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress – South.
Rashmika's talent for captivating audiences continued with her roles in action-packed films like "Devadas" and "Sarileru Neekevvaru", as well as the charming romance "Bheeshma". She even ventured into Tamil cinema with the action-drama "Sulthan". But it was her role as the fiery Srivalli in the record-breaking action extravaganza "Pushpa: The Rise" that catapulted her to pan-India stardom.
Rashmika made a much-awaited foray into Hindi cinema with the action thriller "Animal". This controversial film, though commercially successful, garnered mixed reviews for its portrayal of Rashmika's character.
Rashmika’s upcoming projects
Looking ahead, Rashmika's fans have much to celebrate. She's set to reprise her fan-favorite role as Srivalli in the sequel "Pushpa 2: The Rule." She'll also be leading the charge in two exciting Telugu projects - the female-centric films "Rainbow" and "The Girlfriend." Furthermore, she'll be portraying the historical figure Yesubai Bhonsale in the Hindi historical drama "Chaava" alongside Vicky Kaushal.
