Ravi Dubey was born in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, and raised in Delhi. His father, Gyan Prakash Dubey, is a civil engineer who worked in management positions for real estate organizations in the Delhi/NCR region.

Ravi moved from Delhi to Mumbai to study Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering at the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology. He later pursued a career in modeling.

Debut and early work (2006–2010)

Ravi began his career with modeling and in 2006 played the parallel lead role of Ravi Agarwal in the DD National show "Stree... Teri Kahaani." The show was produced by Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu. He then appeared in a small role as "Veer" in "Dolly Saja Ke" and the lead role in "Yahan Ke Hum Sikandar." He also appeared in nearly 40 television commercials, including for brands such as Reliance, TVS Victor, Nestle, ICICI, Santro, and Water Kingdom. In December 2008, he played the lead role in the Zee TV show "Ranbir Rano" and later appeared opposite Sargun Mehta in "12/24 Karol Bagh."

Breakthrough and success (2010–2014)

In October 2010, Ravi gained popularity as Tej Prakash Chaturvedi in "Saas Bina Sasural." Around this time, he signed the Bollywood film "You Are My Jaan" (2011). In 2012, he appeared in "Comedy Circus" and that same year, he participated in "Nach Baliye 5" with his wife Sargun Mehta, where he became the first runner-up. In 2013, he hosted the dance reality show "India's Dancing Superstar."

'Jamai Raja' and the journey ahead (2014–present)

In 2014, Ravi played Siddharth "Sid" Khurana in "Jamai Raja," which proved to be a milestone in his career. In 2017, he was the second runner-up in "Khatron Ke Khiladi 8." He hosted shows like "Rising Star," "Sabse Smart Kaun," and "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li'l Champs."

Ravi Dubey married actress Sargun Mehta on December 7, 2013. They are followers of Nichiren Buddhism. According to Ravi, Buddhism and chanting mantras helped him find spiritual balance and peace during difficult times in his life.

Project

Ravi Dubey's upcoming major projects include Nitesh Tiwari's mega-budget mythological film Ramayan, in which he will play the role of Laxman. The film will be released in two parts—the first part is expected to release in November 2026 and the second part in 2027.
