A wonderful musical performance by the renowned Shri Shujaat Ali Khan and an entertaining stand-up comedy act by mimicry artist Nityanand Anand created an atmosphere of inspiring celebration, nostalgia and inspiration in the event.
In this 12th award ceremony (2025), production executives, managers, controllers and line producers associated with the production of feature films, TV serials and ad films were honored with awards and certificates. Association of Cine TV Ad Production Executives is an organization that plays an important role for the people working in the film and TV industry. It is known that in 1975, late Shri R.K. Handa, Shri Ram Milan Verma, Shri Manik Gupta, Shri V.K. Mathur, Shri Gangadharam, Shri Harington Bernard established and registered this association under the Trade Union Act 1926 in the name of Association of Cine Production Executives with the objective of protecting the professional interests of production controllers and production managers working in the production field of the film industry. The efficient and skillful contribution of late Shri Manik Gupta, Shri Mohammad Shafi, Shri Bhushan Burma and late Shri Gyan Sachdev helped a lot in establishing the association strongly. Later, to expand the coverage and increase the number of members, the television and advertising film sector was included in this association and the name of the association was changed to 'Association of Cine & TV/Ad Production Executives'. Due to the hard work and efforts of the above members of the association, this association has been recognized by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees.
The journey of this association started with several temporary offices from Khar to Natraj Studios, but until with a lot of effort and dedication, a permanent office was acquired jointly with the Art Directors Association at Adarsh Nagar, Andheri West. Later, in 2004, the association proudly became the sole owner of the premises. The beginning of the 21st century ushered in a new era, when the association started its annual awards ceremony in 2001, which for the first time honored the unsung heroes of the production industry by presenting trophies and honors. Apart from this, the main objective of this association has been to provide its members with medical aid, scholarships and financial assistance during crisis and proper remuneration and working conditions after completion of work. It is worth mentioning here that in later days, under the dynamic leadership of new visionaries like Shri Surendra Srivastava, Shri Radheshyam Gupta, Shri Prakash Upadhyay, Shri Shailesh Pandya, Shri Deepak Kumar Chaudhary, Shri Sanjay Sharma, Shri Imran Merchant, Shri Bhavesh Panchmatia, Shri Ravi Chaturvedi, Shri Santosh Jadhav, Shri Naveen Rai, Shri Kiran Shahi, Shri Parvez Alam Khan, Shri Ashok R. Dubey, Shri Tapan Kumar Singh and Shri Surendra Malhotra, the association embraced modernization and launched its own website to connect and serve its members better.
Even amid the PMC Bank crisis and the devastating COVID-19 pandemic, the association remained undeterred. It continued its welfare programs, waived member subscription fees in 2020, distributed ration kits and facilitated financial assistance to its members directly in collaboration with the Federation of Western India Cine Employees. The Association of Cine & TV/Ad Production Executives' historic milestone of 50 years is not only a symbol of the passage of time but also a testimony to relentless perseverance, unity and progressive vision.
