Aamir Khan has always had a special bond with Holi. It is a bond that is closer to his heart than other festivals. Born on the day of Holi, the festival of colours, on March 14, 1965, Aamir's life is a fair of different colours and festivals. The first time when Aamir Khan took his first breath on this earth as a newborn on a hospital bed, it was the day of Phagun. His mother was on the hospital bed and Aamir was sleeping on a small  cradle next to her . Outside, there was the hustle and bustle of Holi, running around, playing with colors, shuffling and shouting. Some not-on-duty employees of the hospital also started playing Holi in the courtyard. Suddenly a nurse appeared from nowhere like an angel into the room, she looked like a playful girl (nurse.) She entered the room and smeared a pinch of pink gulaal on Aamir's soft little cheeks and looking towards his mother she said, " bura na mano Holi hai (Don't mind, it's Holi.')" Aamir's mother narrated this incident to him when he grew up. The gulaal that the nurse applied on Aamir's  face that day still has it's color on Aamir's mind. That pinch of Gulaal was the beginning of his lifelong association with Holi. This unique beginning of the Holi festival has made the festival of colours more important for him, and perhaps for this association, he celebrates it with great enthusiasm every year.
