He appeared in a bold outfit—wearing a white shirt, black pants, and black spectacles, while holding a gun, leading his force in a dramatic and captivating manner. His striking presence and intense look had the audience hooked right from the moment he walked in. Alongside Sonu, the event also saw the presence of Jacqueline Fernandez, who plays the female lead in the film, actor Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Sonu Sood"s wife and film producer Sonali Sood, and Zee Studios' CBO Umesh Bansal. Jacqueline Fernandez"s Stunning Appearance Jacqueline Fernandez, who shares the screen with Sonu Sood in Fateh, stunned the crowd with her chic and glamorous appearance at the trailer launch. She wore a Hollywood-style short dress that was the perfect combination of elegance and boldness. The dress featured a deep neckline, and her styled hair further elevated her appearance. Jacqueline, known for her charm and grace, seemed to be in her element, radiating confidence and beauty at the event. When asked whether she had taken up a romantic role in Fateh, Jacqueline clarified, “No, it"s not just romance in this film. There"s beautiful romance, yes, but there"s much more, including real, accidental action sequences that will surprise you.” Her words hinted at the unexpected thrills in the film that will keep the audience on the edge of their seats. Sonu Sood"s Directorial Debut Fateh marks Sonu Sood"s debut as a director, and it is clear that he has put his heart and soul into the film. He not only stars in the movie but also co-wrote the script alongside Ankur Pajnai. Speaking about his directorial venture, Sonu shared his excitement: “The excitement surrounding Fateh has been incredibly humbling. This film goes far beyond my directorial debut; it reflects a world that we are all a part of but fail to understand. I wanted to bring alive the raw action and human emotion that grips you and keeps you invested. Fateh is a battle cry for all those who face unseen dangers and for those who fight back against the odds." Sonu explained that the idea for Fateh stemmed from the harsh realities he saw around him. He recalled the period during the COVID-19 pandemic when cybercrimes became more widespread, with several people falling victim to loan apps, which eventually led them to take their own lives. “It was heartbreaking to see people being driven to suicide because of these cybercrimes. I wanted to make a film that spoke to this, a film that connected with people on a deeper level,” he said. The Making of Fateh Sonu Sood shared insights into the journey of creating Fateh, which began three to four years ago. During the pandemic, he was deeply moved by the rise of cybercrimes and their devastating impact. “During COVID, I witnessed many people being pushed to suicide because of these instant loan apps. I realized that this was a story that would resonate with the audience, something that was both urgent and relevant,” he explained. Discussing his decision to direct an action film, Sonu said, “I"ve always been associated with action films, but this time I wanted to do something different. When people told me I should make a Hollywood-style film, I thought why not take it a step further and give the audience something they would truly enjoy? Fateh is the result of that thought.” Sonu"s vision for the film was not just to deliver an entertaining action movie, but also to make a social statement, shedding light on the invisible struggles people face and the emotional battles they fight within. The movie is as much about action as it is about the human experience. One of the film"s most intriguing elements is the involvement of veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah. Sonu Sood revealed that although the film was almost complete, he felt there was something missing, especially during a crucial scene where Dibyendu Bhattacharya's character converses with an AI. “I needed a face for this, so I reached out to Naseeruddin Shah and requested just one day of his time. We shot all of his scenes in a single day, and it was an unforgettable experience,” Sonu shared. This collaboration between Sonu and Naseeruddin Shah added a layer of gravitas to the film, further elevating its appeal. Challenges During Filming Filming Fateh came with its own set of challenges. Initially, scenes set in Dubai and San Francisco were not part of the script, but as the story evolved, these locations became essential to the narrative. “We had to get special permission to include just 12 people in the shooting crew for certain international sequences. Despite the limitations, we were able to make it work with a small, dedicated team,” Sonu recalled. Despite the challenges, Sonu expressed satisfaction with the final result, saying, “It was a challenging process, but the outcome is something I"m proud of. We made it work, and the film is now ready for the audience.” The Fear of an 'A' Rating Given the film's intense action and violent sequences, Sonu was asked whether he feared it might receive an “A” certification from the censor board. He responded, “The film has not yet been certified, but I believe audiences today are more accepting of intense films. Movies like Animal and Kabir Singh have been successful, and people are ready for this kind of content. The audience will understand why a character does what they do, and that will justify the actions taken by the characters in the film.” In addition to the thrilling action sequences, Fateh also boasts a powerful soundtrack. Sonu Sood shared that the title track “Fateh Kar Fateh” features music by Haroon-Gavin, lyrics by Mandeep Khurana, and vocals by Arijit Singh. “We"ve also brought in a lot of new talent to the film, including fresh voices and faces that will add something special to the experience,” he added. At the trailer launch event, Sonu was asked why he chose to make an action film as his directorial debut. He explained, “I"ve always been a part of action films, but with Fateh, I wanted to do something new. When you"re a director, there are no boundaries—you can create the film the way you want it to be. That"s why I made this film. I wanted to give the audience something fresh and exciting.” Sonu further elaborated, saying, “Action films offer a lot of scope for creativity, and there"s so much to explore within the genre. It"s a thrilling space to work in, and I felt it was the perfect genre to tell this story.” Towards the end of the event, Sonu shared a powerful message that resonated with everyone present: “The sky should be your limit because no matter how expensive the land is, it can always be bought.” This line encapsulates the essence of the film—Fateh is about rising above adversity, fighting for what is right, and not letting anything hold you back.
