Several romantic films have previously been set against the backdrop of India's freedom struggle. Azaad, releasing in theaters on January 17, 2025, follows a similar theme, introducing a fresh romantic tale. In this film, we’ll witness the debut of two new lovebirds - Aman Devgan and Rasha Thadani. To strengthen their love story, Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn plays a pivotal role. The new faces in Azaad are Aman Devgan and Rasha Thadani. While they may be newcomers to the audience, their upbringing is deeply rooted in Bollywood. Aman Devgan is the son of Neelam Devgan Gandhi and the grandson of the legendary Veeru Devgan. He grew up watching his uncle Ajay Devgn on screen. Rasha Thadani, on the other hand, is the daughter of actress Raveena Tandon and businessman Anil Thadani. Rasha’s maternal grandfather was the renowned director Ravi Tandon, and her great-uncle was the iconic Sholay villain Sambha, played by Mac Mohan. The film’s making has the perfect Bollywood touch, directed by Abhishek Kapoor, known for his previous works such as Kai Po Che, Rock On!!, and Kedarnath.

Set in the 1920s during the Indian freedom movement, Azaad tells the story of British officers taking Indian laborers to South Africa. A bandit named Vikram Singh, who prefers to be called a revolutionary rather than a dacoit, rescues the laborers. Ajay Devgn plays the role of Vikram. His love interest is portrayed by Diana Penty. Aman Devgan plays Govind, who looks after the horse Azaad, while Rasha Thadani plays a princess. The film’s song Uyi Amma has already garnered significant attention and love from the audience. The cast also includes Piyush Mishra, Mohit Malik, Delon Jones, and others.
