Shabbir Ahmed: Salman Khan Is My Godfather, Loved Heer from Fateh

Sonu Sood and Jacqueline Fernandez's film Fateh is set to release on January 10. One of the popular songs in the film, "Heer," composed by musician Shabbir Ahmed is favourite with Bollywood star Salman Khan. The actor also complimented on the song in his show Bigg Boss. He said, "I liked the song Heer.” Sonu Sood expressed his gratitude to Salman Khan for this gesture. The song "Heer" is sung by Vishal Mishra and Asees Kaur, while Shabbir Ahmed and Ajay Pal Sharma penned the lyrics.

Shabbir Ahmed, who has written many songs for Salman Khan’s films, said, “I composed the song ‘Heer’ during the lockdown, and Salman Khan liked it a lot. When I played it for Sonu Sood, he loved it too. I told Salman Bhai about it, and he graciously allowed me to give it to Sonu. Salman Bhai even mentioned it on Bigg Boss, which shows his kindness. He’s my godfather, and I am delighted that the song is trending and receiving so much praise.”

Shabbir Ahmed has also collaborated with B Praak for another song in Fateh, set to release soon.

Hailing from Muftiganj, Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, Shabbir Ahmed struggled to establish himself as a lyricist before transitioning into composing songs during the lockdown. Having learned music since 1997, Shabbir has worked with composers like Sajid-Wajid, Salim-Sulaiman, Pritam and Himesh Reshammiya. He also gained valuable insights from Ustad Sharafat Ali Khan, the father of Sajid-Wajid, and has collaborated on singles with Padma Shri Rashid Ali Khan.

Inspired by Madan Mohan’s compositions, Shabbir Ahmed has teamed up with Ismail Darbar’s elder brother Yaseen Darbar to create music. He has composed over 400 songs across various genres, including romantic, melodious dance numbers, and Sufi tracks.

In addition to Fateh, Shabbir Ahmed has written songs for Himesh Reshammiya’s upcoming film Badass Ravi Kumar. He is also composing the music for Emraan Hashmi’s film Driver. With 24 years of experience in the music industry, Shabbir Ahmed emphasizes composing classical songs and hopes audiences will shower him with the same love as a composer as they did for his lyrics.
