A feature of this annual celebration was the prestigious "Character-Tree Award", presented to personalities who, through their actions and contributions, paved the way for character-building in India and around the world. These pioneers embodied the essence of AKK's philosophy, that true greatness lies not in mere external achievements, but in the development of a noble and steadfast character.

The evening began with a grand and magnificent lamp lighting ceremony symbolizing knowledge, hope and enlightenment. This dignified ritual was led by Mridula Tripathi, wife of eminent actor Pankaj Tripathi, renowned poet and writer Bodhisattva and Harsh Gupta, Chairman of Lilavati Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, whose collective presence made the occasion even more dignified and significant.

The prestigious Charitra-Vriksha Awards that year proudly honoured a stellar line-up of talented individuals from diverse fields who have left an indelible mark with their talent, vision and dedication. The awardees included film director Amar Kaushik, filmmaker Vinod Bhanushali, playback singer Madhushree, actress Richa Chaddha, journalist Priya Gupta, costume designer Ashley Rebello, emerging filmmaker Prem Raj Soni, Dr Khalid Sheikh for excellence in the medical field, Satish Chaurasia and Imran Hassan as acclaimed AKK well-wishers, businessman Aslam Lashkaria, Leena Jain for her contribution to women empowerment, music composer Digvijay Singh Pariyar, living legend Raj Babbar and emerging singer Arush Dayal. The evening was graced by the presence of Kriti Choudhury, Aditi Shetty, Rati Shankar Tripathi, Krutika Desai Khan, Yamini Malhotra, Anup Soni, Anushka Chauhan, Arshi Khan and many more.

AKK paid a heartfelt tribute to the timeless legends of Indian cinema as it celebrated its 100th year of glory and remembrance. Honouring the unparalleled contributions of Guru Dutt, Raj Kapoor, P. Bhanumathi, Pradeep Kumar, Ritwik Ghatak, lyricist Shailendra, poet Gopal Das Neeraj, classical singer Shobha Gurtu, and the golden voice of Mohammed Rafi, the enchanting Noor Jahan and the legendary actor Dilip Kumar, the event celebrated their artistic brilliance, cinematic legacy and their indelible impact on Indian culture and society.

Only through the birth of a strong individual character can society defeat corruption and experience the true dawn of swaraj.

In an era where there were days dedicated to themes such as freedom, peace, teachers, or even consumerist celebrations such as chocolates and roses, AKK sought to start a new tradition – celebrating Character Day for the upliftment and health of the broader society.

Over the years, the Character-Tree Awards have honoured some of the most eminent names in art, culture and public life, including Hon’ble Usha Mangeshkar, Padma Bhushan Udit Narayan, Shri Pankaj Tripathi, Shri Boney Kapoor, Shri Saurabh Shukla, Shri Ashok Vajpayee, Padma Shri Usha Kiran ji, Padma Vibhushan Girija Devi ji and many other eminent personalities whose life and legacy defined the true meaning of character.

That year's AKK Festival proved to be a confluence of spirituality, cinema, and the timeless values ​​that shape humanity. Honoring the eternal importance of character as well as the cultural impact of cinema, the event became a beacon of inspiration, reminding everyone that talent and fame may have lit up the stage, but it was character that kept the soul of society alive.
