Akshay Kharodia Faces Setback as Film Project Shelved After TV Exit
After his stint in the TV show Pandya Store ended in 2023, Akshay Kharodia took a break from television to pursue a career in films. Unfortunately, the film project he was involved in was shelved after eight months of shooting, which took a toll on him.
Reflecting on this challenging period, Akshay shares, "It was upsetting as I had given a lot of my time and energy to it. It affected me, but I knew I had to bounce back. I went for a week-long meditation retreat that helped me a lot."
Now, Akshay is back on television, starring in the show Suhaagar. Discussing his return to the small screen, he explains, "The experience has taught me that sometimes things may not work out, but one has to keep trying hard. One bad experience can't stop me. I'm sure some other project, be it films or OTT, will work out in the future. For now, I decided to take up this TV offer because I found it interesting."
In a recent interview with ETimes, Akshay discussed how he navigated these challenges and maintained optimism about his future projects. In his personal life, Akshay and his wife Divya Punetha maintain a long-distance marriage. Divya lives in Dehradun with their two-year-old daughter, while Akshay's work keeps him elsewhere. He comments, "It is not easy to be in a long-distance relationship, but we've mutually decided to keep it this way because she prefers living there and I have my work here. But I keep traveling, and we manage to spend time together."
