Lately, he made a candid statement where he said, "as an actor, my main concern is to play a role in the film in a way that narrates the story and also brings authenticity to my characters and If I have to be typecast or do unconventional roles, I am ready to take bold decisions in the situations which adds life to the story and even if I need to be naked, I will do so to make my role genuine. To me, that is what makes the craft special. Those are the little things that make it authentic, so I am all for it  whatever my character demands and I am ready to expose."

Talking about his recent achievements, Akshay won the best reviews for his role as a jet fighter pilot in Siddharth Anand's "Fighter", which shows his versatility and range as an actor. "His forthcoming projects, showing his dedication to diversity and excellence, include “Tu Chahiye,” “Dil Hai Grey,” “Two Zero One Four,” “Illegal 3,” “Broken News 2,” “Supremacy,” "Tulsi Kumari of Sani Sanskari" is his project. Besides this, there are a lot more still to come in his upcoming ones.
