The highly anticipated rom-com sequel  De De Pyaar De 2  family entertainer which releases on Nov 14th ( Children’s Day)  starring macho Ajay Devgn and vivacious Rakul Preet Singh in lead roles supported by fabulous star-actor R.Madhavan as Rakul’s screen-father.  The gripping social thriller directed by Anshul Sharma and co-produced by Luv Ranjan narrative follows Ajay Devgn as 'Ashish Mehra', a much older yet debonair businessman  who falls in love with 'Ayesha' (Rakul Preet Singh), who is almost half-his-age !.  Just as a recall-refresher,  the first part of De De Pyaar De  ( prequel) showed 'Ashish' and 'Ayesha' convincing the former's family. In the sequel releasing this weekend, the same couple will be seen trying to convince 'Ayesha's' family. It's not just pyaar that’s complicated, it’s parivaar too and no one plays by the rules.

In the sequel, Ashish steps into Ayesha’s family home, only to come face to face with her progressive yet protective parents played by R. Madhavan and Gautami Kapoor. What follows is an roller-coaster, entertaining Pyaar vs Parivaar clash between two powerhouse performers - Ajay Devgn and R. Madhavan.

Rakul Preet Singh, reprising her role as attractive Ayesha, brings back the charm, spontaneity, and refreshing honesty. Adding a new twist to the narrative is handsome, macho Meezaan Jafri, making his’Wild Card’ entry in the franchise. Interestingly, Jaaved Jaaferi,( Meezaan’s real-life father)  as Ashish’s best friend, is fantastic and being an acclaimed dancer, he matches steps in a musical face-off brief mazedaar dance-muqaabla with Meezaan. But they don’t play father and son on-screen but are in opposite rival camps.

 Speaking to me, Meezaan said, “ Honestly, am super-grateful to Ajay Devgn-Sir for allowing me in ‘De De Pyaar De-2’  to recreate his daring iconic entry scene from his mega-hit action musical blockbuster  ‘Phool Aur Kaante’ (1991) with my legs split-spread on two parallel vehicles in motion. This is an amazing re-birth role for me to be working with  legendary co-star actors like Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan my own father Jaaved Jaaferi and of course actress Rakulpreet who has this amazing on-screen romantic chemistry with me

Which is why Tabu who played Ajay Devgn’s separated wife in the prequel, she will not be seen at all in the second part. However, innovative co-producer Luv Ranjan promises to bring back Tabu in ‘De De Pyar De- 3’ (Part Three) where there could possibly be a grand fusion-merger of two clashing  families  !.

Such a delight to note that  while brilliant versatile star actor  R. Madhavan will soon release his 100th film and strike an on-screen-Century,  the diligent dedicated star-actress Rakul  Preet Singh will shortly complete her Golden Jubilee when she releases her 50th movie!

De De Pyaar De 2 is directed by Anshul Sharma, produced by T-Series’ Bhushan Kumar & Krishan Kumar, and Luv Films’ Luv Ranjan & Ankur Garg.
