'Tanvi The Great' Teaser: After almost 23 years, actor Anupam Kher has once again taken the reins of direction, introducing a fresh talent to the world. On Monday, April 28, 2025, he unveiled the teaser for his dream project 'Tanvi The Great'. Kajol, the celebrated actress, was present at the event and introduced Shubhangi, the lead actress of the film, to the media and the audience, revealing that this would be Shubhangi's debut as the lead actress.
Anupam Kher's Words
During the teaser launch event, Anupam Kher shared, “I have been on this stage many times before, but today’s situation is different. I never felt nervous in front of the camera, but when I directed Om Jai Jagdish in 2002, 23 years ago, I felt a new energy and excitement within me. This film, written by Rahul Nanda and produced by Vashu Bhagnani, was not just about being an actor, but also about being a director and creating a film.”
Anupam further explained that he decided he would not make a film until he found a story that truly touched his heart. Four years ago, during a conversation, he found that story, and since then, he has built an amazing team, consisting not just of skilled artists but also of good-hearted individuals. He mentioned that today, the film is ready, and he is excited to share it with the world.
He also expressed, “My entire family, friends, and our acting school students are here, and it is truly wonderful to share this journey with them.” Anupam shared that he wanted to invite an actress he admires and believes to be a great artist. That actress is Kajol. He remarked, “Kajol is an incredible actress.”
Mentally Fit
Kajol, accepting the honor, said, “It is a great honor for me to stand on this stage with Anupam Kher Sir.” She added that he is not only a great actor but also mentally very fit, and she learns a lot from him. Shubhangi's Words
At the teaser launch, actress Shubhangi expressed her happiness, saying, “When I first saw myself on screen, I couldn’t believe it. I remember when I dreamed of entering the film industry, I thought one day my face would also be on screen. Playing the character of Tanvi has been a wonderful and enriching experience. Working with so many legends in the film has strengthened my foundation, and I am even more determined to work harder.”
During the event, Anupam Kher revealed that Shubhangi was selected for this film from his acting school, where she had received extensive training.

When asked about launching a new face like Shubhangi in the industry, Anupam Kher responded, “It’s not about launching faces, but about launching talent. Cinema is not just about showing faces; it’s about finding and nurturing real talent.” He emphasized that the industry now needs trained actors, as casting today seeks diversity, not just a specific look. He also stated that instead of focusing on heroes or heroines, the industry needs actors.

Chaitanya Padukone's Question
During the Tanvi The Great teaser launch, senior journalist Chaitanya Padukone from Maya Puri Magazine asked Anupam Kher about the music of the film. Anupam replied that the songs are the soul of the film, and the soul of Tanvi The Great lies in its music, composed by the Oscar-winning M.M. Keeravani. He also shared that even before starting the film, he had discussed the music. Additionally, he revealed that Shubhangi plays a singer in the film.
About the Film
It is worth noting that Tanvi The Great has been written by Anupam Kher himself. The music for the film has been composed by M.M. Keeravani, who won an Oscar for his work. The film is being produced under the banner of Anupam Kher Studios, with the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) joining as a co-producer.
