‘Asli sona' --Sonakshi Sinha gets married to ‘good friend’ ‘heera’ Zaheer Iqbal! by Chaitanya Padukone

Way back in October 2022 ( almost two years ago), both Sonakshi Sinha ( currently of 'Heeramandi fame) and her ‘good friend’ also her screen co-star Zaheer Iqbal walked the fashion-ramp together like a friendly-couple at the Glam Mid-Day Icon Awards event.  Although they were at that time, promoting their upcoming movie ‘Double XL’, as on-screen co-stars, their sentimental close- bonding-vibes was quite apparent and evident at that event.

Dazzling Sonakshi Sinha { she kept ‘khaamosh’ all thru} and her ‘Double XL’ co-star debonair Zaheer Iqbal proved to be the scene-stealers as they ‘cat-walked’ on the fashion-ramp in the finale round of the 2022 Glitz and Glam  Fashion razzmatazz star-studded event.  The event was anchored by the flamboyant compere Siddharth Kannan and it was held at Sahar J W Marriott hotel.

Also accompanying Zaheer and Sonaksi was their ‘Double XL’ movie co-star stunning Huma Khan. While walking together on the fashion-ramp both ‘Sona-Heer ‘( Sonakshi- Zaheer’)  acknowledged the thunderous applause of the special invitees and celebs in the elite audience. Many invitees in the audience  (including me ) predicted that there was a strong probability that both Sonakshi and Zaheer could ultimately end up in blissful. matrimony   That’s exactly what happened ( almost two years later) on June 23rd when they got married to reach other under the  Special Marriage Act (1954). This is an ideally-practical legal solution for newly about to be married as husband and wife,  belonging to different religions or nationalities to lawfully get married to each other ‘without converting’  to their partner’s faith.

It was interesting to observe during October 2022 that the former fashion and costumer-designer-Sonakshi Sinha (of movies 'Lootere' and 'Mission Mangal' fame) was both excited but also a bit nervous as she stood in the stage-wings before she started her ramp-walk with Zaheer. As soon as Sonakshi started walking the ramp along with Zaheer shw was glowing with confidence and the friendly-romance was apparent in the air.

Versatile star actress-dancer-singer and excellent painter is known for her brilliant performances in movie like 'Dabangg', Lootera,' Mission Mangal, series Dahaad and of course latest Heeramandi. With her calibre for agile dancing,  in 'Oh My God' (2012)  in a cameo role Sonakshi  perfectly matched her dance steps with iconic dancer Prabhu Deva in the repeat-value hit song 'Go Go Govinda'

Delighted parents veteran yet evergreen star M.P. Shatrughan Sinha and wife Punam Sinha have  'blessed' the newly-married couple. It may also be noted that their common close friend and producer-mentor mega-star Salman Khan had indirectly played the mediator-cupid and got them together.   The benevolent producer-family friend Salman Khan launched  Sonakshi in his movie ’Dabangg’ (2010) and the same Salman launched Zaheer in his Hindi movie.’Notebook’ (2019). Interestingly, Salman-bhai is an old good-friend of  Zaheer Ratansi wealthy-entrepreneur father of 'dulha' Zaheer Iqbal.
