Already versatile star-actor Anupam Kher’s upcoming directorial movie ‘Tanvi The Great’ is creating a mega-buzz in the entertainment industry due to its global premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, New York, Houston, and Austin. Call it divine coincidence that 'Tanvi The Great' (with 09 soulful yet foot-tapping songs) has two Oscar-Academy-Award-winning crew members by way of genius composer M M Keeravani and sound designer-editor genius Resul Pookutty. With its emotionally hard-hitting, cheerful-tears, realistic, resilient content, the trailer of Tanvi The Great itself deserves an Oscar!!
Incidentally, despite his super-busy schedule, veteran legendary Hollywood actor-director Robert Anthony De Niro also attended (and appreciated) one of the international previews of Tanvi The Great, is what Anupam shared at the trailer release.
Said acclaimed Anupam Kher ( who returns to 'direction' after 23 years), " Unfortunately, in today's times, goodness is only evident in those people who do not understand manipulation. That's what is badly needed. We live in a world where we are constantly 'manipulating' ourselves or other people," shared Kher, who had also invited his mother, Mrs Dulari Kher, and brother Raju Kher, and buddy-actor Anang Desai, who seemed emotionally moved after watching the Tanvi TG trailer.

Highly appreciating the sensitive lyrics and soulful compositions of the TanviTG songs, which also made him teary-eyed, co-star actor Jackie Shroff said that he had learnt a lot during the shoot, with regards to finer nuances of acting from buddy-actor Anupam Kher, who had this time also 'directed' him.
Following the motivational musical movie’s trailer release, Anupam Kher expressed happiness at the response of the viewers, saying that the film promotes awareness for “autism” and taps into the “goodness” in human beings.

‘Tanvi The Great’ follows the story of an autistic girl who strives to join the Indian Army, as manifested in the trailer. It stars debutante Shubhangi Dutt, who has put in an emotionally impactful ( award-worthy) performance in the lead title role. Jackie Shroff, as a rugged army officer, Boman Irani, Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi (as the mother), Arvind Swamy, and Karan Tacker play the prominent roles in the film. Anupam Kher has shared that ‘Tanvi The Great’ is not only a heartwarming story of a girl who aspires to join the Indian army, but also a way to ignite the goodness in human beings, which often gets lost in this fast-paced world.
“We all believe in goodness. And life has brought us to this stage. Times have brought us to this stage. Situations have brought us to this stage where we have stopped believing in goodness. That’s why when we see goodness, our original feelings come back. The audience who cries…the song that MM Keeravani sang today, or the things he said, or the people watching the trailer were crying. So many journalists were crying, and one of them was actually sobbing when she came near the stage and hugged me while appreciating the trailer. Autism can be a super-power, despite the disability, " asserts actor-director Anupam Kher
In the trailer, actress Shubhangi ( a brilliant alumnus of the An Actor Prepares academy) plays Tanvi Raina, a grown-up girl who is autistic. She lives with her mother Vidya, played by Pallavi, and her grumpy, outspoken grandfather Colonel Pratap Raina. She takes a trip to an army cantonment location where her active interest in the Indian Army gets ignited. Her father, Samar Raina, played by Karan Tacker, became a 'martyr' while serving in the army when she was young. Wanting to fulfill her late father's dream, she decides to join the army.
During the course of her journey, she meets Boman Irani, who plays a funny, quirky character who calls autistic as "artistic." Tanvi's wish to join the army leaves her grandfather in disbelief and shock. The adamant Tanvi then approaches ('Roja' and 'Bombay' movie fame senior star actor ) Arvind Swamy's character, Major Srinivasan, to turn her into a "cheetah" during her training in the army. The trailer then shows tenacious Tanvi getting her rigorous training as she joins the army.
By the way, it was a very heart-warming 'apnapan-team-spirit' gesture by movie-team 'Captain' Anupam Kher to invite his entire creative technical Crew for a group photo on stage and get them to share the front row on-stage limelight, while the lead cast, led by the director, all stood behind.
When it finally releases in cinema theatres on Friday, July 18, the sensitive emotional-thriller musical movie Tanvi The Great shows 'great' promise of being authentic, realistic, yet fantastic! Do not wait for any future OTT streaming announcement, this marvelous movie deserves to be watched ideally on the big screens in the nearest cinema theatres!
