Bollywood’s “King Khan” Shah Rukh Khan is currently embroiled in a major controversy. The issue erupted after his IPL team, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), bought Bangladeshi fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman during the IPL 2026 auction. What began as a sporting decision has now escalated into a political and social debate, with former BJP MLA Sangeet Som and several religious leaders openly criticizing Shah Rukh Khan.

Serious Allegations by Sangeet Som
During a public event in Meerut, former BJP MLA Sangeet Som launched a sharp attack on Shah Rukh Khan. He alleged that KKR purchased Bangladeshi cricketer Mustafizur Rahman for around ₹9.5 crore and termed the move “anti-national.”

Sangeet Som said, “On one hand, there are reports of attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh. On the other hand, players from the same country are being bought for crores of rupees in the IPL auction. Shah Rukh Khan has bought Bangladeshi player Rahman for ₹9 crore. Today, some people in Bangladesh are raising anti-India slogans and making derogatory remarks about India’s Prime Minister. Yet traitors like Shah Rukh Khan are spending ₹9 crore to support them. Such people have no right to live in this country.”

He further alleged, “Hindus are being beaten and tortured in Bangladesh. Their houses are being demolished, they are being killed, our mothers and daughters are being raped, and Hindus are being murdered one after another. Even after this, if you include a player from that country in your team, it is betrayal of the nation.”

Statement by Devkinandan Thakur
Storyteller Devkinandan Thakur also issued a warning to Shah Rukh Khan, the owner of Kolkata Knight Riders. He said, “Mr. KKR, the public will reduce you to zero. No Bangladeshi player should be allowed to play in India. If Shah Rukh Khan does not remove that player from the team, Hindus should boycott KKR.”

Shiv Sena Spokesperson Reacts
Shiv Sena spokesperson Anand Dubey stated that Bangladeshi players should not be allowed to play on Indian soil in the IPL. He said that if KKR owner Shah Rukh Khan does not remove Bangladeshi player Mustafizur Rahman from the team, it would mean he does not understand the sentiments of the country.

Dubey added, “Bangladeshi players should not be allowed to play in the IPL on Indian soil. Pakistani and Bangladeshi players should be banned. They hate us because our Hindu brothers and sisters are being killed. Shah Rukh Khan should immediately remove that Bangladeshi cricketer from his team. If he still does not do so despite all this uproar, it will prove that even though he lives in this country and earns money here, he does not understand the nation’s sentiments.”
