While making the film, did you keep in mind that television and cinema audiences have different viewing preferences?

Absolutely. While making the film, we were fully conscious of the fact that television and cinema audiences have different tastes and viewing experiences. Television is a daily medium where viewers gradually form a bond with characters, whereas a film has to tell a complete story within two and a half hours.
That is why we upgraded the film on every level—be it writing, camera work, or visual treatment. The comedy punches have also been sharpened to ensure that the audience in the theatre doesn’t feel bored even for a moment. Our constant effort was to design every scene and every frame, keeping the big-screen experience in mind, so that both TV audiences and cinema lovers feel something fresh and new.

How did actors like Ravi Kishan and Mukesh Tiwari add strength to the film?

In comedy, characters are the most important element. Actors like Ravi Kishan and Mukesh Tiwari bring a completely different energy and flavor to the film. Their presence has strengthened the story and elevated the level of comedy. Working with them was a very warm and positive experience.
Despite being such big names in cinema, they carry no sense of stardom or ego. Manoj Tiwari also extended his full support to the project.

As a woman producer, what challenges did you face in the television industry?

Honestly, I have never felt that I was treated differently because I am a woman. My team—no, I wouldn’t call them a team, they are my family—has always stood by me at every step. They not only supported me but trusted me completely.
I have always received respect and faith in this industry, and that becomes the biggest strength for any professional. When your work defines your identity rather than your gender, the confidence to move forward comes naturally. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have found such an environment and such people who encouraged me to work freely and believe in myself.

Cinema actors receive more respect than television actors. What are your thoughts on this?

Television is the industry that generates the highest employment in the country, yet TV actors do not receive the recognition and respect they truly deserve. This is not the responsibility of one individual—it is the responsibility of the entire industry to ensure that television actors also receive national-level recognition, which has traditionally been limited to cinema.
In this direction, members of the television fraternity have taken an important step, initiated by actor Sudhanshu Pandey. We have supported this initiative and hope that meaningful and positive steps will be taken in the future.

Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain' is now on the big screen: Ravi Kishan said at the trailer launch, "If the audience wants, history will be made."

What has been your biggest learning from the industry?

My biggest learning has been that nothing is more important than discipline and timelines. In this line of work, you have to be prepared at all times—sometimes locations change suddenly, sometimes an actor falls ill, and sometimes technical issues arise.
A producer must always function like a firefighter, handling every crisis instantly. During my earlier show, Family No. 1, I personally handled everything from costume arrangements to design work. That’s when I learned that even a five-minute delay can be costly in this industry. Punctuality is not just a habit; it is a professional responsibility.

Even during difficult times like the COVID period, we did not reduce a single episode. We delivered a new episode every day because we believe that the audience’s trust comes above everything else.

What advice would you give to new television producers and writers, especially in the comedy genre?

I have just one piece of advice—focus on good work and don’t think about money first. If your content is honest and meaningful, audiences will automatically connect with it.
For the last 11 years, I have worked every day with the thought of how to give viewers something new, better, and memorable. I strongly believe that where Saraswati (knowledge and creativity) resides, Lakshmi (wealth) is bound to follow. When you work with sincerity, dedication, and passion, success and recognition naturally come your way. This belief gives me the strength to move forward every day, and this is the message I want to pass on to the next generation.

Mayapuri magazine has completed more than 50 years. Do you have any special memories associated with it?

Mayapuri magazine has completed a glorious journey of over 50 years, and I share many cherished memories with it that are still close to my heart. Many years ago, I was myself a cover model for Mayapuri. Preserving those magazine cuttings was a matter of great pride for me at the time.
Mayapuri has always been an honest and fearless voice of the film industry. The job of the media is not just to praise—it is to write the truth, whether it is good or bad. If we ever deliver a weak episode, it is your right and responsibility to write about it as well.
