When Saif Ali Khan was admitted to Lilavati Hospital after being attacked six times with a knife, his condition was reportedly critical. However, a doctor at the hospital remarked that he entered like a lion, and even though his spine was pierced by a 2.5-inch knife, he looked almost fine when discharged after four days. This is not just my observation, but many reactions from people on social media seem to echo this sentiment.

Saif Ali Khan's Hospital Visit Raises Questions on Family

Saif Ali Khan attacked: Kareena Kapoor, Sara and other celebs visit actor at hospital - India Today

What's also puzzling is the absence of Saif Ali Khan's second wife, Kareena Kapoor, at the hospital. Instead, their young son Taimur accompanied him. Why didn’t Kareena, who was reportedly at her sister Karisma's place, rush to the hospital? Was there no driver available at their lavish home and Saif had to rely on an auto-rickshaw to get to the hospital? Saif’s siblings, Ibrahim and Sara Ali Khan were reachable by phone and could have easily rushed to the hospital—so why was his ex-wife Amrita Singh so indifferent? Could her emotions really have faded to this extent?

pataudi family dispute: Saif Ali Khan to lose Pataudi family properties worth Rs 15,000 crore in Bhopal? What we know - The Economic Times

Meanwhile, a startling revelation has surfaced—Saif Ali Khan’s 15,000 crore worth property in Bhopal, inherited by his family, is at risk of being lost. A part of his family's land in the Koh-e-Fiza to Chiklod area has been declared "enemy property." The Madhya Pradesh High Court in Jabalpur had asked Saif, his mother Sharmila Tagore, his sisters Soha and Saba Ali Khan, and his aunt Sabiha Sultan to present their case in an appellate authority, granting them a month to do so. Interestingly, no petition has been filed by the Pataudi family during this time.

The term "enemy property" refers to the assets of people who migrated to Pakistan after the partition. These properties were seized by the Indian government under the Enemy Property Act of 1968, which gives the government control over such properties. Many such properties across India have been declared enemy property since partition, including the significant property owned by the Pataudi family. Saif Ali Khan and his family had initially managed to secure a stay on the government’s decision to seize their land in 2015. However, in 2024, the Madhya Pradesh High Court lifted the stay, thereby allowing the government to proceed. Saif and his family can challenge this decision in a division bench, but time will tell what the outcome will be.

The disputed land spans over 100 acres and was inherited by Saif’s grandmother and her sister. The Pataudi family is said to have migrated from Afghanistan to India, amassing significant wealth, which is why they were historically known as Nawabs. The controversy began after the death of Nawab Hamidullah Khan, whose eldest daughter, Abida Sultan, became the heir to the property. However, after partition, she chose to move to Pakistan. Saif’s mother, Sharmila Tagore, is the daughter of Hamidullah’s younger daughter, Sajida Sultan. As Abida left for Pakistan, the property became part of the Pataudi family’s holdings. The portion of the land belonging to Abida Sultan was later declared enemy property. Today, 150,000 families reside on this land, and the question arises—if the government takes possession of it, where will these families go?

Meanwhile, Saif Ali Khan’s attack has stirred up another controversy. The attacker, identified as Sharifullah from Bangladesh, had illegally entered India six months ago. He attacked Saif, injuring him severely, before fleeing the scene, evading cameras and security guards. How did someone manage to get into such a high-security building unnoticed?  Sharifullah was eventually caught and is currently in police custody.

Saif Ali Khan discharged from Lilavati Hospital; attacker entered India illegally 7 months ago - The Hindu

The connection between Saif Ali Khan’s attack, the ongoing property dispute, and the suspect’s motives remains unclear. But this chain of events—along with the auto driver’s statement, the controversy over the  15,000 crore property, and the attacker’s remarks—leads to a growing speculation: Could Saif’s injuries be linked to this property dispute? Only time will reveal the full truth. For now, debates and reactions continue to flood social media, with each new angle adding fuel to the fire.
