Fawad Khan's 'Abir Gulaal' Banned in India Amid Tensions Post Pahalgam Attack

Fawad Khan's 'Abir Gulaal' Banned: Due to the recent tragic event in Pahalgam, Fawad Khan's new Bollywood movie 'Abir Gulaal' featuring Vaani Kapoor has been officially banned from being released in India for an unknown period. The movie was set to be released in theaters on May 9  2025. His fans were excited about it because it marked Fawad Khan's return to Bollywood since a long break. After the incident, the Indian government and film industry groups have decided to strongly oppose the release of the film.

FWICE Bans Pakistani Artists from Indian Projects

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE)  a dedicated group that represents people who work in films and technology confirmed that they still do not allow Pakistani artists to work in Indian movies. People in Bollywood are said to be calling for a total boycott of all Pakistani actors singers  and technicians who work on Indian entertainment projects. They cautioned that working with Pakistani staff could result in punishment. They also made it clear that they are trying to make sure Abir Gulaal will not be released in India.

Reports say that government officials have confirmed the film will kept banned due to the public anger after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Exhibitors and movie theaters are hesitant to show the film because they might encounter protests and a lot of angry reactions from the public.
