While mourning the sad demise of visionary guiding-star revered father-figure 'late' Rono Mukerji, some of the well-wisher, eminent celebs and family members, and cousins also highly praised the musical genius and creative caliber of the 'late' veteran director-composer. As is known, despite his ailing health Rono-Da who was President of annual North Bombay Sarbojanin Durga Puja was often around along with his 'late' brother Deb ( Debu-Da) Mukherjee- who also passed away recently, to keep tabs over the perfect arrangements during the Durga Pujo Utsav. Both Rono-da's bereaved wife Shamita, talented actress daughter Sharbani ( she seemed emotionally shattered), and actor son Samrat ( also emotionally shocked) were maintaining their calm, composure despite the tragic loss of their father. and accepting heart-felt condolences from the film fraternity, including their own cousins as well as the Ganguly, Bachchan, and Lahiri families.
While paying respects, almost every well-wisher was seen and heard extolling the creative genius of caring father-figure director-composer-pianist late 88-year-old Rono Mukerji at the Hiravati Banquet Hall, where the Prayer Meet was held last evening.
A pillar of strength, wisdom, and warmth, Rono Mukerji was more than a legendary name; he was a guiding light in the lives of so many. A kind-hearted, modest gentleman whose low-profiled selfless dedication leaves behind a legacy built on kindness, integrity, and cheerful camaraderie.
It may be recalled that Rono-da has co-directed this yesteryear movie Haiwan (1977) and directed as well as composed the music for the yesteryear year Tu Hi Meri Zindagi (1965)
Besides the Mukherjee family including Subir-Da Mukherjee, Sujoy Mukherjee, Subhash Mukherjee, Kajol and Tanishaa Mukherjee, Ayan Mukherji, a large number of well-wishers attended the Prayer Meet including Salim Khan-saab, Shweta and Jaya Bachchan, Amit Kumar Ganguly and Sumit Kumar Ganguly, Rituparna Sengupta, Bharat Dabholkar, Rego B, Rema Lahiri, Gobind Bansal, Bappa Lahiri, Hoshang Govil with wife Hemali Govil and many more.
Meanwhile, producer-anchor Hoshang Govil mentioned to me that both he and his 'late' iconic mother Tabassum-jee were very emotionally close to Ronu-da's family, and he was proposing to shoot a biopic video tribute to the late director-composer. As part of his very popular 'Tabassum Talkies' show.
