"Our country India being a peace-loving nation, we definitely do not want war. !! But when our Motherland is challenged by enemy forces across the borders, we have to take necessary defensive action," asserted the macho Sunny Deol at the grand afternoon celebration to celebrate the "organic blockbuster box-office success of Border-2.

Following the thundering success at the box office showing of 'Border 2', ( reportedly racing towards Rs 500 crores worldwide gross), eminent producers Bhushan Kumar and JP Dutta Films assure us that a third sequel-instalment is being planned, of course with Sunny Deol heading the cast. with actual war situations pre-dated and prior to Border-2 "But this time the gap will be much shorter, because the pre-production story-scripting stage and production will be much more faster," says co-producer Nidhi Dutta.

Present at the Border-2 success event were the lead top-star cast Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, Medha Rana, Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh, director Anurag Singh, producers Bhushan Kumar, (T-Series), and Nidhi Dutta. ( J-P Films). Each of the lead cast, especially Sunny Deol,, Mona Singh, and Varun Dhawan, shared personal emotional sentiments and it proved to be a soul-stirring experience for all those present.

It may be recalled that Border 2 (2026) released after a long gap of 29 years since Border had hit the theatre screens way back in 1997.

The decision to move ahead on a faster speed-track with Border 3 reflects the continued relevance and popularity of the patriotic action franchise, which has long been associated with powerful storytelling, visuals, intense war-zone action scenes, and emotional performances, soul-stirring lyrics and music centred on the Indian Defence Armed Forces. The upcoming instalment will once again see T-Series joining hands with JP Films, reinforcing the partnership that has played a key role in shaping the identity of the Border series over the years.

Border 2 has evidently struck a chord with viewers through its combination of action, emotion, and patriotic themes. The film’s performance at the box office has underlined the audience’s interest in war dramas that focus on personal sacrifice and national duty, elements that have remained central to the franchise since the release of the original Border in 1997.

With Border 3, the makers are expected to build on this foundation while taking the legacy forward for a new generation of viewers. The collaboration brings together T-Series’ production scale and reach with JP Films’ long-standing association with the franchise and its storytelling ethos. When asked about the loads of love he is receiving from audiences, Sunny Deol replied in a jestful manner “I don’t know where all this was hidden for past so many years. It’s truly beautiful. I just want to tell everyone — work hard, love your profession, don’t lose hope. You never know when time will change, but you must always be prepared.”

He further added that it is his father Dharam-jee's blessings and Waheguru-di-Kripa grace upon him. He said the audience has always loved him, and now even the industry realizes that people across the country want to see him on screen.

During the celebration event, Sunny also spoke about his upcoming projects. While how his legendary 'late' father Dharmendra was in lead cast of war-zone emotional movies like Haqeeqat, Lalkar and more recently Ikkis, he revealed that his next period partition-era film Lahore 1947 ( opposite Preity Zinta) will release in theatres on Independence Day. Yet another upcoming action-drama-emotional film titled Gabru, releasing this year by mid-March, which he described special project to his heart.

Border 2 has performed strongly at the box office, crossing Rs 460 crore gross worldwide within 20 days of release. The Army-Navy-Air Force emotional war drama, released on January 23, 2026, benefited from the extended Republic Day weekend and continues to attract audiences even has a passion-love-for-the-nation relevance during current Valentine’s Day Week.
